Read moreMy husband and I were visiting Maine last week for our honeymoon when we discovered this gem! We just happened to see the sign as we were driving through and thought we’d give it a try. We both LOVE waffles and breakfast food, and Peace, Love, and Waffles was absolutely perfect! They have so many amazing options, we ended up making a second visit. We were only in Maine for a week, otherwise we would’ve gone back for a third time.
On our first visit I had the Maple Bacon waffle. It was soooo good!! One of the best waffles I’ve ever had. I forgot what my husband had, but he said it was also delicious and he ate it very quickly, so it must’ve been great! He also got the cloud coffee; I’m not a coffee drinker, but it was so cool watching the cotton candy cloud drip down into the coffee as the chef poured the mug!
On our second visit (just two days later, we couldn’t stay away!) we both decided to try savory waffles. I had the Loaded Potato waffle (sans sour cream) and my husband had the Chicken Pot Pie waffle. Both were soooo good! I attached pictures of those.
Not only is the food amazing, but the staff are super friendly and wonderful as well. The owners are a mother and son. We met with the son who was also the one taking our order and serving us, and he is super friendly and kind! On our second visit, we accidentally spilled my husbands latte. When he went to ask for some napkins to clean it up, the owner ended up giving him an entirely new latte to take on the road!
Lastly, the environment is wonderful! The restaurant is so cute and fun, and the outdoor space is beautiful! You sit in the shade of apple trees and enjoy the beautiful weather.
My only regret is that we live in Texas, and Dover-Foxcroft, Maine is a long way to drive… but I’m sure that every time we visit Maine we will come back to this...
Read moreSo I understand that things are different in many places and maybe I should have read some reviews about this "Restaurant/Diner" do not by any means get me wrong the food was good and $50 for 2 adults and a 13 year old boy was not bad for a Waffle place. I wish I had taken a few pictures but as a family we have a rule of no phones while at a table eating. Anyways, I figured that being Father's Day they would be busy and I was right. Lucky for us we usually eat later in the day so the 30 minute wait to order was not that bad. I found it intriguing how we waited in line then put our name on "The List" to wait interesting. It seemed like an Olive G thing without the buzzers for waffles. So we waited a bit longer then placed our orders at the front counter and went with silverware in hand to find a seat. There were a couple families ahead of our order so my hubby and I stepped outside for a bit. The food was good. A waffle, 2 eggs and 2 half dollar sized hand pressed from amazing fresh sausage for my hubby and I was delicious. A bit on the spicy side but out 13 year old loves spice so it wasn't too bad for him and his tomato, bacon waffle with semi scrambled eggs. The place was nice and I loved the 60's feel of this hidden gem. The only improvement I could possibly think of it maybe add an extra cook and waffle iron to the mix on holidays. I'll have to check it out on a leash busy day and maybe order a potato waffle next. 😉 Oh and as side note since it was out I now need to find out about the cotton candy coffee that was out...
