The Bullwheel — Restaurant in Dover

A big disappointment; not in terms of food or service, rather in selection and local offerings. I’ve been coming here for years as a family tradition. This used to be a craft beer room, where one could find all kinds of local Vermont brews on tap, even the hard to find ones. They used to offer cheese boards and all the fixings that you would associate with a taproom. In a lame attempt to capitalize and follow the hipster trend, it’s been changed to a cliche “tacos and cocktails” establishment, with just two Vermont brews on tap (Switchback and Fiddlehead). The unfortunate thing was there was nothing on the menu from Vermont even in terms of cocktails (nothing was made from the state).. I can’t say the food was bad, but I also can’t say that it was really that good. Everything was horrendously overpriced. Besides some unique cocktail names, none of the drinks were impressive. Everything about this establishment said “I’m not local and I don’t support local”. Even the bartender, who struggled to identify my local Vermont I’d stated they were not from the state. And I guess long story short, when I come to a place in Vermont, I look for establishments that represent the best of Vermont. This...
