Transporting rescue dogs takes me to many cities I would not normally travel to, and it allows this foodie a chance to try new places. Today I found myself in Cambridge, which I have been to many times, but since I was heading down 70 west to Columbus I opted to try something along I70. People had been talking about this new pizza shop in Dresden, Main Street Pizzeria. I have never been to Dresden but having seen it on the map before I knew it was on my way home. I called them up to verify hours and asked how far off I70 were they and they said about 15 mins. Great! Put the address into Google Maps and off we went. Maybe Google felt I needed to enjoy the winding roads with roller coaster like hills, vast expanses of farmlands and Amish Buggies, but the 45 minute ride made me question my intelligence and choice of cellular providers as I wondered are there 2 Dresdens? Did I put in the wrong address? Did I hear he wrong? Have the machines taken over? And when I tried to double check I had no cell service, but I trusted the process and I am so glad I did. On her recommendation I ordered the Tuscan Chicken pizza with the Cauliflower Crust, the Meat Cravings pizza and the Italian sub. There is not a piece of dough that I haven't enjoyed, but that cauliflower crust on the Tuscan was crispy and so full of flavor. Not sure how they got that depth of flavor and texture into that crust but it checked all the boxes and did not leave me wondering where is the dough. All of the flavors on the pizza were balanced and plentiful. Where has this flavor combo been all my life? The meat craving is equally delicious, full of flavor and well balanced. And with the exception of the outside edge of the crust, there was no a single bite that did not have multiples types of meat. The sauce was light and had a nice herbal note to it. My husband had the Italian sub and I wasn't able to get him to quit eating it long enough to give me his thoughts but that right there speaks volumes. Their salads look good too but I have an issue with lettuce that has been out of the fridge too long so I will dine in next time to try one or 2. It was worth the drive over hill and dale, and dare I say a drive from Columbus just for it. And the cherry on top of this review is their deserts. I got the cookies which are very large and very good and are made in store. I got the no bake chocolate, no bake peanut butter and the peanut butter cup cookie. I snagged a bite of the no bakes on the drive home and they were delicious, no more room for the other cookie but if it tates as good as it looks my belly will be happy tomorrow or maybe tonight, probably tonight. And when you go make sure you read the various signs on the walls and in the restroom, hillarious and oh so true. Thank you to the owners James and Amanda, the food and hospitality were exceptional. Winner Winner pizza dinner. Oh and it is only about 15 mins from I70 when Google Maps puts you off at the right exit, which is not the New Concord Route 83 to Rote 93 way unless you are looking for a stroll through the...
