This place is very busy even up to 8 :30 pm and close at 9:00 pm. It is located in a very cool area and nice to watch the sunset if you can get a window seat or outdoor table and can tolerate the fact that the outdoor tables have not been wiped down all day. Sadly, we watched not only a sunset but every person who ordered behind us enjoy their pizzas and move on their way. When questioning about the wait after about 35 minutes ,we were told 5 minutes. 20 minutes later, we asked again. All the workers seemed perplexed. We were told it would be put in promptly. About 15 minutes later and an hour after our arrival , we still had not been alerted to our order. Finally, I approached the counter and let them know I was unhappy. I really hate being a pain, but not one person there seemed to care that we were sitting there watching ppl come and go and wait for a pizza. We ordered a specialty pizza minus pepperoni. Maybe that was the issue. We will never know because they would not tell us anything. I found this dishonest and a careless way to treat customers who are paying high dollar at a national park. We had to drive to Headwaters from here and rode on in the dark after receiving our pizza without an explanation. I can't recommend this place at all. Our pizza was edible, but looked haphazardly made as if the ingredients were literally thrown on top of it. The whole experience with these overwhelmed workers really sucked. Put a big damper on an otherwise awesome day. Wish we would have just returned to camp for dinner. No more restaurant outings at national parks for us. Thank you Leek Pizzeria for the only restaurant outing and worst during our stay. Theu simply...
Read moreWhen I showed up, there were no spots left in the parking lot, and there was a line out the door. I was able to park in a large adjacent lot. When I was eventually able to place my order, it took about 45 minutes to get my food. Given how busy it was, it didn't seem that unreasonable.
The smallest pizza option was a 10-inch pie at just under $20. I got a small "The Grand," which was pesto, spinach, artichoke hearts, sun dried tomato, mozzarella, and feta. Honestly, the crust and undercarriage of the pizza were really nicely cooked. It was a very good pizza. Even though they were so busy, the quality did not suffer. The pizza had a lot more cheese than I like, but I know a lot of people like a really cheesy pie. As a result, the cheese was melty, but not very browned on the top. I know this is another preference thing I thought was worth mentioning because from looking around the restaurant, it seemed to be a consistent quality.
Coming down off a 16-mile hike, I was ready to eat, but I was not able able to finish this 10-inch pizza alone. Honestly, their small pizza could pretty comfortably feed 2 people. So, after tips and soft drinks, you could reasonably feed 2 people for about $35ish. For being in a National Park where everything is marked up, this is...
Read moreThey were out of cheese, the lady blamed it on their truck being late, but how does a pizza place not have enough cheese? There was a sign on the door, that only said "No cheese sorry" so we asked if we could order pizza and the lady literally replied "nope!" There was also a flavor of ice cream on their board, that we were told they were out of, why not remove it from the board? My wife also selected a tip option that wasn't reflected on the receipt, we weren't going to talk to anyone about it after already having received such a poor attitude from the lady behind the counter. Do yourself a favor and check out the other pizza place in the park, we've been there multiple times and have never gotten an attitude. The location is definitely nice, but in our experience, that was all it had going for it. The business should consider having more specific signage if the employees are going to get so upset at people asking valid questions about a vague sign. I feel like this is just an example of a business feeling like it can treat customers with disrespect just because it is inside a national park. The ice cream was decent, but certainly not worth the price. We won't be returning on future...
