Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in Dripping Springs

We were so excited when we found out a shipleys was opening nearby. I know a new buisness can struggle at the beginning while they are trying to get things in order. But I've had several times now and have not had good experiences. I placed an online order for 2 dozen donuts several hours before pickup time and when I got there it was not done. I then had to wait for 30mins! Was late for a work meeting because of it. The dumb thing was they weren't even busy. They didn't even apologize for the wait time or anything and acted clueless even though I had asked several times if my order was almost ready. The one guy was just standing doing nothing in between customers coming in. Another time I was in the drive thru and it took so long I ended up just leaving and I was the only car in line. I'm only going to be going there now if I know I have a ton of time to wait. A big reason people get donuts is because they are already made and it's fast. They need new leadship in the store, someone to take the reigns and delegate what needs to be done or at least someone who acts like they care to provide...

I love Shipleys and really wanted to give this location grace since they’re new but the issues here are consistent and frustrating. Weekday mornings the drive thru is painfully slow even at 6am and the lady working it is often rude if you say hello after waiting five minutes at the screen without a response. They’re also always out of kolaches which is wild for that early in the morning. On weekends I’ve gone inside about six times and my order has only been correct twice lol. Once they gave me the wrong kolache three times in a row I handed each wrong one back immediately only for them to tell me they were out and not making more and will I trade for a donut which no id order a donut it that's what I wanted. When I asked for a refund because I'm not going to eat what I didn't order they couldn’t figure out how to do that either so I just left. It’s clearly a staffing or training issue. I know you just opened, but I really love Shipley and want to see you succeed. The kolache I received today had what I’m pretty sure was a hot dog in it. Please use whatever sausages the Brodie lane location is using. Much better quality and taste. You nailed the dough to meat ratio! Do-Nuts are good save for a couple of things. Not enough filling. The filled bars I’ve tried have been under filled and inconsistent on size. No iced nut rolls (again check out Brodie) both white iced and maple iced are amazing. Cinnamon rolls have like 2 lines of icing on them. We’re so glad to have more donut options in the neighborhood and with some minor tweaks I’ll keep coming back!

I came back this morning and tried the “bold” version of the kolaches and they are wayyyy better than the regular versions at your store or Brodie! Donuts were filled and iced more. I still need maple iced nut rolls in my life, but this will tide me...
