The Montanan Steakhouse — Restaurant in Drummond

REALLY wanted to give a great review based on what I had heard and other reviews. Had the German food in winter and I loved it so was looking forward to going back. Had company in town so took the drive over. One appetizer wasn’t what was ordered( kitchens fault we were told.) I had pub steak. Ordered medium it was medium well to well. Tough. Lacking flavor. Ravioli was deep fried which if it said that on the menu,I wouldn’t have ordered that. I ate one and didn’t care for it. Salad bar was one star. My husband had chicken fried steak..he said it was ok but nothing to write home about. Our friends..one had a burger and Mac and cheese she wasn’t impressed. Other friend had the Philly steak sandwich and ate half. WAY too salty. The fried pickles were good but menu says served with ranch dressing which...

We have always looked forward to going to the Montanan while we are in Lincoln, but no more. Our last visit here was the most unpleasant experience we have had at a restaurant. One of the owners sat us and said she would be back with the menus, but never returned. We watched people that were sat after us get their meals. Granted, there was a big party ahead of us, but it took almost an hour and a half to get our food, and they had not prepared my husband’s meal. My daughter ordered a burger and it was cold and tasted like it had been sitting out for awhile. We all ordered salads and was told to get it from the salad bar, only to find out nothing was stocked. They were short staffed, but there really was no remorse of how bad the service was. It’s sad to see such a yummy restaurant...

Adding to my embarrassingly recent visit, we went again and the Salmon Cobb Salad was amazing. It looks huge, but there's more "stuff" than lettuce, which is very filling! The salmon is cooked perfect. My only request would be a huckleberry dressing, since they have a huckleberry glazed salmon entree. Haven't tried that yet, maybe next time. And my husband, who I have not seen eat asparagus in 25 years said "these are good". Which both shocked and disappointed me. I thought I was getting some asparagus with my dinner when I saw them on his plate, and he doesn't ever, ever eat them. Ever. I was speechless. So, they're...
