The servers were fine. It seemed like there was to many employees working with so few tables to be waited on. When we sat down the waitress brought butter and crackers to our table... which was confusing for us. Most places when they bring butter to the table they also bring rolls, not crackers. My fiancee ordered the steak, medium rare, with a baked potato and salad. I ordered the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans and the waitress finally brought out the rolls with our food. My fiance's steak came out raw and bland so he had to send it back TWICE and the cook still didn't cook it right. The last time it was over cooked and he was tired of sending it back so he smothered it in A1 sauce (which he NEVER does) and choked it down. My mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant potatoes, the country fried steaks (they gave me 2) were over peppered and over cooked. The breading was so hard you could probably hear the crunch from me cutting into it all the way across the establishment. We tried the dinner rolls hoping something good came to our table but we were disappointed there too. They tasted like manufactured rolls. You could tasted that they had came out of a freezer and were so dry(even with butter) it was hard to swallow. We wanted to walk out without paying but we didn't. We will NOT be going back there. We were severely disappointed and upset that the food turned out so revolting. We will also NOT recommend this place to...
Read moreWhenever Iâm in or around Drumright, I always try to stop to eat at Josephâs. This was my third visit so far. First visit I had the chicken fried steak which was excellent. My second visit I had the chopped sirloin which was also a delicious choice.
On my latest visit I decided to go outside my comfort zone a little bit and I ordered something Josephâs is known for which is the fried bologna sandwich. I had not had a bologna sandwich since I was a kid so this was either going to be tasty or it could backfire. While you are waiting on your meal you can snack on crackers smeared with butter. The butter looks like a scoop of French vanilla ice cream đ¨
Seriously the biggest, thickest piece of bologna I had seen smothered in a piece of melted cheddar cheese. Comes with lettuce, tomato & onion. It had bbq sauce on it which I was not that fond of and that was not mentioned on the menu. It was something interesting and different to try. If you live bologna youâd probably really love this item.
I wanted steak fries but they were out that night so I had regular fries. This sandwich is featured in the romance novel series âOklahoma Nightsâ. For dessert I opted for the chocolate fried pie with vanilla ice cream đ¨ đ
Pretty neat they have a Babe Ruth jersey in the entrance area. Babe played an exhibition game when nearby Shamrock played...
Read moreIt was time for me to update my review! I can no longer give this place 5stars or recommend to anyone. A couple months ago, we got a large variety of meats and things for a family gathering. I thought all the meat tasted off, kinda old. Well again yesterday we got the same for another family get together and the meat again was disgusting! Particularly the brisket!!! The next day my husband warmed some up to eat and it literally smelled like wet dog. My stomach has been rolling since! It is disgusting. The quality of everything has gone down! The fries, the cod, the rolls are absolutely inedible!!!!! What happened to the days Josephâs had fresh home baked rolls? Not these frozen sister shuberts that sit so long under warmer they feel like rocks?! The only reason theyâre still as busy as they are, is because there are no other options in town. Tabouli & cabbage rolls are still good though. Thatâs it.
Original review: Do yourself a favor and ask for a side of smoke sauce to dip the fries in! So good! I love their fried cod! Itâs not fishy at all! The Louisiana style is...
