The bad: The appetizer we ordered wasn't available Ordered shrimp insetead. 6 medium shrimp should not be as expensive as they were. the ENTREE I ordered was ALSO not available. I was directed towards the snapper. I was not told if the price difference with the snapper. No good side items. 4 different potatoes and green beans. I hate green beans so settle for sweet potato fries. The snapper was poorly described (and not on the menu). It was pecan crusted (which I knew) but had a sticky sweet glaze on it that was not good.it was hard to finish My husband ordered the sirloin special but just got a regular sirloin. It had no seasoning but was cooked well. The DESSERT we ordered was unavailable. No alternatives were offered.
Three things I wanted which were on the menu were not options. The things I did order were average to poor. I see everyone else has had positive experiences I would be willing to try again but I'm not interested in paying 100 to leave unhappy again. Maybe I'll call ahead and see what's actually on their...
Read moreFirst off, waiter was trying but wasnt able to keep up with our party of 14. We ordered several appetizers and the bruchetta was really nice. The calamari had about 5 pieces and was so crunchy it was hard to taste any squid. Our main courses took over an hour to arrive. My pasta was cold, dry and lacked salt. Others in the party had steak, but it was apparent that the sides had sat on the plate, waiting for the steak.
The restaurant itself was warmer than my food. I eventually had to step out and sit in the car to cool off. I tried to go to the restroom but they were out of order. Apparently, someone made a mess in one of them and needed to be cleaned. I get that, but I was simply told that they were unavailable. I walked behind the kitchen to take a leak. DuQuoin needs a nice sit down restaurant for special occasions but this is trying to be city fancy instead of just nice. The food was not good enough for what they...
