Del Rossi's Trattoria — Restaurant in Dublin

Del Rossi's is one of the finest restaurants I have ever been to, and it is easily the warmest, friendliest, most skilled restaurant around. We've been fortunate to have visited this restaurant with a family who are habitues, but even when we've come by ourselves, the service has been warm and attentive, and the food has been sublime. I don't like Italian American food, but real Italian food is heavenly, and the food at del Rossi's is to die for. I recently enjoyed their chicken and shrimp carbonara, and I had the most blissful cherry semifreddo for dessert. The roasted pear salad is glorious, and everything is homemade. Dined there Saturday September 21, our waitress was new that night, but she was fine. My friend and I both ordered the chicken Gorgonzola. It was so over salted that neither of us could enjoy it. I didn’t finish mine, and she gave the rest of hers to her husband. My husband had the chicken parmigiana which I tasted. It was good, but portion was small. My friend’s husband had the eggplant parmigiana and portion was small too, but tasty. All 3 had salad, which they all enjoyed, especially the goat cheese salad. I didn’t because I was saving my appetite for dinner, which was extremely disappointing. I reviewed the website earlier, and knew the prices, which I thought were fair. Under the new ownership, the portion sizes have decreased without being reflected in the price. Ordered chicken Parmesan that was extremely thick and rubbery, and this was accompanied by about a fist-sized amount of spaghetti— hardly enough for one serving. Ordered one meatball for $7.00 that was a 1/4 of the size it used to be when under the old ownership— if I had to guess, about a golf ball size. These were both mentioned to the server, however the owner never stopped by to clarify our concerns despite being present that night.
