10/20/18 first time here and was excited to try a new place in Duck. As year rounders we get tired of the norm. Started with the fried pickles the taste was good and they were in house made. The wife ordered fish dip and a quinoa salad as her meal and was extremely pleased with it. I tried the fish dip and it's awesome. For my meal I had the flank steak with potato hash and shaved brussel sprouts special. This was a really great dish the steak was perfect and the hash and sprouts were perfectly paired.

Tho I was disappointed my meal didn't come with bread. For dessert we shared a part of some sore the wife loved it and I wasn't a fan. Our server Sarah was on top of her game. Smiled made recs and described things wonderfully. The decorations inside are perfectly done and there is plenty of room. No over crowding at all. We will definitely be returning.

Updates 8/30/2924 party of 3 this time normally it’s just 2 of us we been here several times since my last post and have great experiences. We went tonight and must say all were disappointed. We started with beef skewer and fried green tomatoes, Both were amazing. For dinners we Had 2 steak and potatoes and a fish fry. The steaks were under seasoned and tough to cut and chew and the fish on the fry was not seasoned much at all and the broccoli salad was warm. We have been coming here since they first opened. As weekenders we eat here often. The menu lately has changed so often you never get the same thing twice. That’s not a good thing as many of the best items have been removed and replaced with things that aren’t as good. It almost seems like things are disorganized and there isn’t any consistency. We have decided to take a break and maybe return after some time in hopes of better consistency and hopes they find their identity.

7/23/2025

Decided to give them a try after a long break. Party of 2

Drinks were good tho my second one was so strong I had to choke it down and if you are a Gin drinker you know Gin isn’t easy to drink when over poured.

Apps- Fig special- I found it to sweet and boring. Wife thought it was good and enjoyed the fresh figs but agreed to sweet.

Fried Green tomatoes were delicious

Entrees

Wife- Strawberry Salad and fries from my dinner. Said fried were great. For it to be July the strawberry were tasteless and mushy otherwise decent for a dinner salad.

Me- Fish Fry (catfish) I was excited for this as I love to catch and eat catfish. I asked to sub cheese grits for the fries as I didn’t want fries tonight but server said that wasn’t allowed but I could add grits on for $8. (Fish and grits was one of there known dishes when they first opened) I added the grits. Was a mistake they were old gummy and crusty took 2 bites. I tried the fries and they were good. The Cole slaw was put on the hot plate that made it warm and gross. The catfish was so thin and fried so hard the batter separated from the fish and the fish was like jerky.

The server never asked how things were even when noticing neither of us ate more than 1/4-1/2 of our meal. But she did ask if we wanted dessert or to go boxes. Maybe ask why people aren’t eating their food like “hey is everything ok” or if you aren’t comfortable getting a manager.

Needless to say we have decided we will NOT be returning to T&T anytime soon no recommending to anyone who ask either. Maybe next year we will try again but definitely not in a rush. It’s sad as this use to be one of our favorite restaurants in Duck and as people who is here at our home in Duck every week Wednesday-Sunday we like a variety. Of course like every place there’s people who love it and people who don’t hopefully one-day we will be those who...

We dined at this establishment on Thursday (8/12) and had a great experience so we decided to come back on Friday! We did not make reservations either night which was our fault so we decided to wait for a text when bar seating was available. On Friday (8/13) we were told it would take about an hour to be seated. After 1 hour and 30 mins (8:15pm), we decided to check with the host. The entire bar was empty and the host said "Oops, I was just about to text you". We let it slide as we are all in the restaurant industry and understand mixups happen after a busy night.

Our server/bartender was Allie. She was prompt to take our orders, however, she never checked in to see how our drinks were or if we needed anything else while we waited for our food... nothing. 35 minutes later we received our grain bowl without the added chicken. She explained the chicken breast was taking longer than expected. After another 15 minutes, a quarter piece of burnt chicken arrived on a plate after we were already done eating. She did comp us for the meal which we truly appreciated.

As we were walking out to the parking lot, I realized I left my sunglasses at the bar. I walked back in, asked Allie if she saw them, but she swore nothing was left behind. I knew for a fact they were right next to me and no one was sitting nearby who may have taken them. Something felt off as she did not offer to help look and kept staring at us from afar. We thought it was odd that two minutes after leaving an empty restaurant no one seemed to have any information on where they could have gotten off to. My friend suggested we ask to see camera footage so we could find out where they disappeared to so quickly. Allie overheard the comment, looked concerned then suddenly pulled my sunglasses from right behind the bar. She said they "fell". I was so taken back by this behavior. I do suggest management check into the camera footage as this could have happened to other customers. Lesson learned-protect your belongings…even from bartenders in...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Village Table and Tavern, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish.

We chose to sit outside to soak in the pleasant weather, and the staff made us feel right at home with their warm and friendly demeanor. Their attentiveness added to the overall positive atmosphere, setting the tone for a memorable meal.

Speaking of the meal, the food was nothing short of excellent. Every dish we ordered was prepared with care and packed with flavor. It's evident that the culinary team takes pride in delivering dishes that not only taste fantastic but also showcase the quality of the ingredients.

The weather that day was definitely on our side, and it enhanced the entire dining experience. The combination of delicious food, attentive staff, and a beautiful day created a sense of relaxation that's hard to come by.

The cleanliness of the establishment was noteworthy as well. A tidy and well-maintained environment is always appreciated, and it's clear that The Village Table and Tavern take this aspect seriously.

One of the highlights of our meal was the breathtaking view. The restaurant's location provided a stunning vista of the Bay of the Outer Banks. It added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience, giving us a chance to admire the natural beauty of the area.

In conclusion, The Village Table and Tavern is a hidden gem that encapsulates a perfect blend of great food, friendly service, cleanliness, and a picturesque setting. Whether you're looking for a casual meal or a special occasion, this establishment has something to offer. My visit left a lasting impression, and I can't wait to return to savor more moments like this. It's an easy five...

My recent visit to The Village Table & Tavern in the Outer Banks was nothing short of exceptional. From the start, the experience surpassed my expectations, especially with the unique offerings and the ambiance that complemented the beautiful sunset on the horizon. I ventured out of my comfort zone and ordered the special bluefin tuna, which was recommended by our attentive waiter. The dish was exquisitely prepared, each bite showcasing the freshness and quality of the fish. The hush puppies were also a standout, baked to perfection and offering a deliciously fresh taste that set them apart from typical fare. My wife enjoyed the chicken pot pie, which was perfectly baked with a flaky crust that held up beautifully. She thoroughly savored every bite, appreciating the comforting flavors and careful preparation. The ambiance added to the overall experience, with low lighting that mirrored the setting sun, creating a cozy and memorable evening. The stunning views and warm atmosphere made for a wonderful family bonding experience. I highly recommend The Village Table & Tavern for anyone looking to enjoy a delightful meal in a scenic, welcoming setting.

Due to a huge rainstorm our wild horse tour came to an abrupt halt, we were soaked and hoped to find a nice spot to enjoy dinner. I came across VT&T on Google maps and took a chance to pop in for a table an hour before closing time. We had about a 30 minute wait, but let me just say it was the best restaurant wait I’ve had in a long time! They have an entire “porch” type environment below the restaurant that overlooks the water and all the games to occupy time! The kids played the hook and ring game until the cornhole was available then when it started raining again they played the giant connect four…. All while my husband and I enjoyed a much needed adult beverage that we were able to order at the bar upstairs and bring outside. As far as the food goes… dinner was silent! I say that is 👍🏻👍🏻 for each of us. The fish fry was a blue fish which I sampled off of my husbands plate and it was delicious. I had the calamari appetizer with a strawberry watermelon salad and both were great! I will definitely recommend or come back again if I am back in OBX.

Had a really lovely dinner here! We started out with a glass of the Sauvignon Blanc which was perfect and refreshing and the Goat Cheese Hushpuppies, my husband liked them but they were a bit too sweet for me. I had the Seared Faroe Island Salmon & NC Shrimp which was so so very good. I loved the cannellini beans and the artichoke hearts gave it a nice tang. Husband has the Seared Sea Scallops and while the scallops were cooked to perfection and actually had flavor, he was disappointed that the grain salad was cold. We rounded out the meal by sharing the flourless chocolate tart with raspberry sauce which was very good. Overall the food was very good and there were a few salads and apps that I would come back for. The atmosphere was amazing, cozy and inviting. Great for a date night. The sunset was beautiful and the outdoor seating looked really nice. (They do have tvs at the bar but it was fine). Definitely recommend making a reservation in advance.
