Had an upsetting situation at Yummy's in Dudley, MA last night. When asked what I wanted to drink, I ordered an Arnold Palmer (which is lemonade and ice tea ONLY), iced tea comes without alcohol (unless I ordered say, a Long Island Iced Tea) and Lemonade comes without alcohol (unless ordered "spiked in some way" and even then I would have to clarify which alcohol I would want in it). I have worked in the service industry as a server and bartender, in the past, for 15+ years. I am also 7 years in recovery from alcohol. I expected to get an arnold palmer which is what I ordered, but instead took a big sip because I was thirsty and found that it contained a large amount of alcohol in it! What type, I'm still not sure, since I didn't order it with any, I have no idea what was even put in it. When I brought it to the attention of the server, she said "oh I thought you wanted alcohol in it, you wanted a VIRGIN arnold palmer". Again, arnold palmers come virgin, unless otherwise specified! Which is bizarre to assume that, as I had not ordered any type of alcohol in it. I am concerned because I am sober, there other people that are sober out there, are on medications where they can't have an interaction with alcohol, people allergic to alcohol, etc. Thank God that I'm in a great place in my recovery, but this could have made me relapse! And relapse for someone with an alcohol use disorder can be fatal. THIS IS NOT A SAFE ESTABLISHMENT TO DINE AT FOR ANYONE...
Read moreYummy isn't so yummy. One of the worst possible experiences I've had at a restaurant in a long time. I ordered the Lo Mein with chicken and got the House Special which includes shrimp--I don't eat seafood and didn't touch the plate. The fried rice that came with it was mediocre, but the egg roll wasn't bad at all.
When it was time to pay, I informed the server that it was the wrong order but it didn't make any difference because I was still charged for it. Also, the portions are smaller than other Chinese restaurants.
Additionally, they add an SVC charge of $1.50 without notifying you in advance. I'm thinking this is a CC fee. On a side note, if you're looking for draft beer, look elsewhere because they only serve bottles and cans. Overall, you can do much better if you're looking for quality...
Read moreI am not a health inspector yet it may have been the wrong night (Wednesday) to go here. I do not often find dissatisfaction in the places I go..The rice was somewhat aged with refrigerator odor. We took a taste & that was more then enough. They have two different prices for their drinks so be careful when they say " you want it tall"? It cost more for the fizz. I went for the food & it was decent (so far).we had a combo appetizer mostly fried.( that'swhere we got the rice). I had shrimp with green beans & that is what you get; no rice simply beans & shrimp. My partner got A platter that was suppose to be for two. Some fried & some veggie with noodle. It was enough for her...
