High priced, charges 3% "convenience" fees to all orders, smells like pine sol not Mexican food, manager is not helpful
The prices are high and then on top of that they smack you with a greedy fee. This fee might as well be a percentage of the electricity bill or property fees because that's what bank card fees are: the cost of running a business. Cards are a convenient for restaurants as well as customers. Cards enable customers to be able to spend more than a certain amount of cash they withdrawal from the atm. This is a BIG plus for the restaurant especially a bar restaurant like where alcohol prices and expensive entrees can really stack up. Why make us foot your entire 3% card fee? Why not half and half at the most(1.5%) because you the restaurant benefit greatly from us having our banks in our pockets so we can do any time without going to the bank first and we don't have a certain amount of cash to use. We have the ability to say we want to splurge spontaneously and spend more than usual. And this restaurant thanks their customer by charging them a fee. Thanks but no thanks. I'll go somewhere else where they take responsibility for their own costs of running a business.
I was charged $3.00 for a raw sliced jalapeno that was black inside. I ordered it to go with a $4.50 cheese dip so it really surprised me that a few raw slices of jalapenos to help me enjoy the cheese dip made the price almost double. I should have brought my own jalapeno for 10 cents. I asked the manager if she could change the price to $2 instead of $3 but she said no way. I literally could have bought 12 pounds of jalapenos for what I was charged for one raw sliced jalapeno that was black inside. Guess it's worth us never coming back. First and last visit(2/22/24 Thursday@5:00 pm)
The cleaning spray was so strong that I could smell nothing but pine sol. There was only 2 of us and they brought our food separately while one of us had to wait a while. They charge a 3% "convenience fee". This was our first and last visit.
Why do you charge $3.00 for one raw sliced jalapeno in your restaurant? I should have brought a jalapeno from my home for 10 cents. The manager refused to change the price to $2 like i asked. I will not be back to the river location. It was my first and last time. Our family of 6 spends about $70 for one meal there and you can't discount one...
Read moreLook out for the glaze-eyed waiter “sob story” scam. He was delivering terrible service (forgetting our drink orders and asking what they were again and still got them wrong, ignoring us to the point one of us had to find someone to let them know we were ready to order, then multiple staff would help and refill and get our orders). On top of looking annoyed that he has to take orders and being slow to respond back to us with a glazed look over his eyes, and smelling strong of marijuana.
Then after we get our food, the original waiter comes out trying to accuse us for complaining to the manager about him and that the manager is going to send him home after our table. And after him being gone for another 20-25 minutes, we told him we want separate checks. He then asked what we ordered so he can get our receipts, all the while talking about him being sent home. When he came back, he stood over our shoulders to see what tip we were giving him. A couple of my buddies fell for it and tipped him well.
Well one of my buddies left his wallet and had to come back, just to the find the same waiter enjoying life and chatting it up with the host and never getting sent back home.
So not sure if him and the other staff were in on it or just him. But beware...
Read moreWe visited this Mexican restaurant today with a group of 10—kids and adults—and had an amazing time! The food was outstanding and the service was even better.
We started with the Diablo shrimp, which was perfectly spicy and incredibly fresh—definitely a standout! The steak quesadilla was massive and packed with flavor; even our hungry teenager couldn’t finish it. The shrimp cocktail was another hit—super fresh, chilled, and so refreshing. Mexican corn is a must have!
But the star of the day was the Arroz con Pollo—everyone loved it! It was seasoned to perfection with just the right amount of melted cheese on top.
The drinks were a whole experience in themselves. Bartender Sammy made the best drinks we’ve had in a while—huge, delicious, and totally irresistible. Even the virgin drinks were crafted with care and tasted amazing.
Our server was attentive and friendly, constantly checking on us and making sure drinks were refilled without delay. Every single order came out exactly as requested—no small feat with a party of 10!
All in all, it was a wonderful evening full of great food, great vibes, and excellent service. Highly recommend this place—we’ll...
