Maybe I just was unlucky here. So 15 years ago I went on my first date with my new again love. As we recently got back together after the pandemic took away both our spouses.(Back then I was Young and dumb didn’t realize what a great catch he was. .) anyhow. Used to love the food here and often live music. So we decided since we would go back for our 2nd… 1st date, back to the place were it all started back in 2007. I orders steak which used to be delicious, Yet it was very burnt and crunchy. I wasted my tacos. And the service was lacking as we had to literally hunt someone down for a drink refill. Which was disappointing. Since it was so dead in there at that moment. Also streak tacos usually come with onions and cilantro. Maybe some lime wedges and sliced avocado. But not big piles of lettuce. And the steak was Soo burnt it was crunchy and uneatible. I was also none to happy that there was a fee to pay the bill. Meaning taxed on top of it. It may only been like 98cents. But I did buy 28 bucks worth of food and I am sure the waitress saw it was obviously not very eaten. She did not ask why either. Now I did tell the lady as we left that the food was not good and we would not be back. Just sad honestly as this used to be my favorite restaurant here in Duncan. I just moved back after being gone like 13 years. Maybe it’s new owners or just a bad day. But unfortunately I will...
Read moreEl Campesino is a little out of the way Tex-Mex restaurant who can reliably be counted upon to have tamales. I have a fondness for tamales, and the larger, more visible Tex Mex restaurants we're doing a land run business, so I decided to try El Campesino. Very glad that I did. I got the two tamales and one beef enchilada with refritos and Spanish rice, around up giving one of the tamales to my husband. He loves them as well, but he prefers bistec ranchero. But I knew he could eat one more tamale. They were savory and moist, there was meat in every bite of tamale. The spiced beef enchilada was also quite tasty. The only customers there besides myself where Hispanic Americans. Obviously, this is a legit Mexican restaurant. Give it a try next time one of those other Tex-Mex places is jam-packed. They do not...
Read moreHorrible!!!!!! Absolutely not Mexican food! I don't think they even know how to wrap a burrito! Greasy, no flavor, I tried to pick my burrito up, like I said, they don't know how to wrap up a SIMPLE burrito, and the tortilla was soaked on the bottom, soggy with grease!!! Then, they gave me chips, and 2 things of salsa, one of the little containers was some kind of....looked and tasted like LARD!!!!! Unbelievable! I'm fresh from California were Mexican restaurants are on every block! They seriously need to shut down shop, drive to California, pick ANY Mexican restaurant and learn how to cook Mexican food. At least some what learn. I seriously doubt, I'll ever be back in this restaurant again. Far as I'm concerned, they owe me my money...
