1540 Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Duncanville

They LACK customer service! The lady that greets you is rude and has a smart mouth! We booked a section for a birthday party on Sunday which they said would include line dancing cool. All our guest paid $5 at the door ordered drinks and food and the Dj or owner would not accommodate playing any music we requested after accepting and booking us. We were told by the Dj that his following is line dance and if he played any other music his crowd would leave and refused to play not even one song after we were booked and payed our money. Waitresses were rude, random people sitting in our RESERVED section and when we asked the staff to let them know they had a attitude and went an told the guest “they are complaining about you let me move you”. Why book two events and only cater to one? Your excuse was well we are normally closed on Sundays. Well you are open today and u accepted a booking if that’s the case we should’ve been notified BEFORE arriving that none of our requests would be accommodated. It should’ve been communicated that Line dance is the only people that would be catered to before we invited 40 plus people and ordered all this damn food. Horrible service RUN from this place don’t walk they use to be cool when they were in Duncanville. So we kindly packed up our shit and left and went to Greedys!! If u wanna be accommodated go to...

Got a quick brunch around 11am on a Tuesday. Had to get it to go for time restraints but this place looks like it has got it going on!

The dining room is clean, plenty of TVs to watch, if you are into sports, this is your place.

I tried the catfish and had some fries both were excellent 👌 . The fries are seasoned well and definitely fresh. The catfish is light, flaky, and breaded to perfection (not overly breaded like some other places). The portions are good sized like I like.

This is on my list to revisit sometime when I've got more time to sit in. Next time I'm going to give the Oxtail a try. They have a DJ booth and live stage so I'm sure the evenings here are a great experience as well.

Location looked sketchy and was nestled in the corner. We were expected to pay $25.00 for a table just to sit for a “Flip Flops and Lemon Drops” event. The place wasn’t even heavily attended! Music was loud and the saxophone player was not what was expected. This whole event I felt was a false advertisement that didn’t match the flyer which stated “brunch”. There were no brunch options. Waitress was kind and attentive, but the pasta and Turkey burger ordered was served cold and the happy hour Lemon drops were served in a plastic cup! 😭 They were charging $8.00 if you wanted it in a glass!
