We came to Fall Creek Falls Campground for a weekend family retreat for the weekend. We went to the on site restaurant the night we arrived because of convenience and we thought it was so cool that this park had so many amenities.
We arrived at the restaurant around 630pm and did not leave until 930-945.
We ordered our food after about an hour because the server did not greet us until after 20 minutes of sitting there and never came back.
We sat at our tables without refills. And ONCE our food did arrive it was cold. Fries were cold. Everything was cold.
After sitting there for 2 1/2 hours waiting, spending our time, and our money they were not at all professional or took responsibility for their business.
I had to actually get up and walk to the bar to get a refill on my drink. And on top of that the soda was out and they gave me a refill that was only soda water.
After 2 1/2 hours we finally got our food.
After an hour of not seeing the server or bill. We asked for boxes and the check.
Never received the bill or boxes.
I had to get up and ask for boxes and a male employee white, young, and skinny had given me the rudest response when I asked for two boxes.
He said,”what can I help you with?” About three times.
I asked for 2 boxes each time politely. Honestly.
He said of course the customer is always right.
I asked them why they were being so rude and were treating me so terribly. I asked for the manager.
The tall skinny brown haired manager came out and told us that we were inconceivable because they were supposed to close at 8 and that he was out helping and that he was “autistic” and that he does ALOT of work for them using that as an excuse for the treatment I received. I told them that is not an excuse at all!
They did not care, she was rude. She cursed at us saying the “F word.”
I recommend the park 100%
STEER CLEAR FROM THE RESTAURANT!!! Do not go.
Go to the park do NOT GO TO THEIR RESTAURANT and spend your precious time and memories waisting it here. It was awful, and it truly traumatized me.
I have severe anxiety and depression and it has really bothered me and I have not been able to enjoy the vacation as planned because I have not been able to stop thinking this incident.
It made me super anxious and very upset.
DO NOT GO TO THE RESTAURANT. Drive 45min - 1 hour and go somewhere that will appreciate your time and your money.
IF I COULD RATE THIS PLACE -5 STARS I ABSOLUTELY WOULD. I will be calling the TN STATE PARK number and will be filing a complaint for spending over $150, my time, and memories, by the unfair treatment we received while our...
Read moreI'm going to go out on a limb and say that this park no longer has a restaurant. They have a bar that serves mediocre rolls while you wait. Getting any actual food is impossible. We signed up on the wait list, and waited 45 minutes to get in. We were surprised to find that they weren't really all that busy once we got in. Quite a few empty tables. We waited over ten minutes for anyone to come to our table. Finally the server did come. Can I get your drinks started? No thank you, we'd like to order. She took our very simple order for two entrees- chicken tenders and fries / chicken breast and mashed potatoes. You'd think that would be relatively fast. Nope. It was ONE HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES after ordering that we got our food. If you ever do get your food, it will be overpriced, bland, and in my case, cold. Fries were cold and tasted like they'd been under a heat lamp for a few hours. I threw them away. See photos. The chicken was okay, nothing special. Mashed potatoes were obviously instant potatoes with no seasoning, like you'd buy in a box at Dollar Tree. At no time were we offered any discount, accommodation, or understanding from this dumpster fire of a restaurant where we wasted 2 1/2 hours and $40 on bad food and no service. I've been going to Fall Creek Falls restaurant since 2005... in the old building. Last night was my last visit. The "hiker sandwiches" that they used to sell for $6? They're now $15, if you could get one. Go to the Snack Bar instead and get a pizza for $12. This place...
Read moreMy husband and I had already decided what we wanted to eat while we were waiting on a table. When the server took our drink order we let him know we were ready to order our food.I ordered the chopped steak (plain) without the peppers and onions. The menu said it came with mashed potatoes and one side. The waiter ask if I wanted a salad I said no but he never ask what other side I would like. I just let it go and I was okay with just the chopped steak and mashed potatoes. My husband ordered the cliff hanger cheeseburger. We waited and waited for our food but it never came out. Other people were seated after us and ordered after us and got their food. My husband wanted to leave some money on the table for my coke and his water but I decided to ask someone where our food was at. Flagged down a waitress and she rudely let us know there were two orders ahead of ours. There were a lot of flies but none of the staff seemed to care. Finally a waiter came and told us that our food would be out shortly as if we were being impatient which we were not in had been 45 minutes since we ordered and the restaurant was not that busy. Plus when people come in after you and get there food before you something is wrong. When the food finally came out my chopped steak was burnt and covered in peppers and onions. I didn't dare mention it to the under caring staff. We ended up not being charged. I didn't bother to leave a tip which I had planned on doing. My best advice is eat...
