My wife and I drove to Vallecito, from Durango to do some hiking, and on our way out we decided to stop and try the Weminuche Woodfire grill as we hadn't been before, my wife has celiac disease, and their menu boasted gluten free options. From the time we ordered to when we got our food was about 40 minutes wait time, they didnt appear to be overly busy at the time. When we ordered I ordered the Swiss cheese and mushroom burger, and my wife ordered a chicken sandwich with a gluten free bun. When we got our food it looked good, we dug in and about halfway through we realized that I had received the gluten free bun and my wife had ended up with the regular bun, Both bread buns tasted weird, and not like normal bread so it was hard to tell from the start, we mentioned it to the waitress who when she went to check and came back she brought a gluten free bun which matched with the bun on my burger. I only ate about half of my burger as it had no taste, the onions had no taste, the meat which I ordered medium rare but came well done had no flavor, the cheese had no flavor, the only thing with flavor was the bread. Unfortunately their incompetent chef had messed up both of our meals, the only good thing was the potatoes which were on point. and of course we payed over 40$ for two botched meals as we wernt offered any discount of comp for the disappointing food. We will not be...

Our family used to love this place. Yet today was the worse experience we have ever had and will not be back. Started off by being sat right away and followed by having our server ignore us for 20 minutes. Finally took our drink order and appetizer order which led to us waiting over 30 minutes for water, tea, and lemonade and over an hour for cheese curds. Once those finally arrived our waiter decided to ask us if we needed anything else. Mind you we have not ordered. We ordered and were told it was going to be an hour since they ā€œdidn’t expect a rush on Father’s Dayā€ like seriously? More than an hour later (2 hours into this experience) we decided to put a 20 on the table and leave. Magically our waiter comes out with our food packed in boxes as we are walking away. We requested the manager and she refused to come out and speak with us nor give us a discount on the food we were forced to take to go. She let the waiter do her bidding. It’s really unfortunate since we have people who work there that we are care about and they have to deal with low caring management. I didn’t even mention someone crashed into our car in the parking lot and left. If I had to guess it was probably an over served patron. I wouldn’t recommend wasting the 100$ on feeding a...

The Weninuche is the spot! There are almost no places to go in the evening at lake valacito, so the Weminuche is pretty much it, but luckily it's a super fun place. There's often live music which is really great, and there's pool and plenty of people-watching to do. The staff is super friendly, that they can get extremely busy during the on-season. In my opinion, the bar basics are the best. Their burgers and pizza and sandwiches are great, and that's what I'd recommend. The mixed drinks are so-so unless you keep it simple, but they got plenty of beers on tap and lots of sodas and things like that. Every time we've been there for live music, it's been super fun. They always get a really interesting mix of engaging country, western and rock acts. After a long day of hiking, or hanging out on the lake, the Weminuche is the perfect place to end your day. Definitely check it out if you're in town!

Pretty good little grill and restaurant. We had what felt like a gaggle of kids and they were very kind and tolerant of our noise and mess. Had dinner there one night and breakfast a couple days later. You can't find the breakfast menu listed anywhere on the website or map listing, so I've included a pic. Pizza was ok but the artichoke, spinach, bacon dip was AMAZING and so were the cheese curds. Breakfast was okay... the eggs on the benedict were definitely not cooked the way we asked and the skillet that comes with brisket and green chili is literally a pile of green chilis, not a sauce. Overall, great service tho and a cool atmosphere with live music some nights.

Solid. We got a couple sandwiches/burgers. Cooked well and tasted well. Came in at 12:30 pm and we finished eating at 1pm. I was satisfied with the speed of the service for sure. I saw some of the other critical reviews I’d say to exercise patience with smaller places like this. It’s hard enough running a business let alone a restaurant an hour away from the city. Things aren’t always gonna be perfect but this place met expectations for us today. I’d come back.
