The food was good, ppl were friendly but myself and a friend visited because of an advertised bike night. Well the number 1 mistake was it was on a Sunday. There was no entertainment, no vendors, no specials except for a $4.50 hamburger, no outside seating or drinking, non smoking bar, but most importantly, only enough parking for about 5 cars or so. There were 3 bikes parked there in a huddle when we arrived. We had to squeeze between the parked cars which should have been left available for anticipated bikes. In my opinion from being a life long "biker" and avid weekly bike night attendee at different venues, they need to learn what a Bike Night really is and what is needed to draw "bikers". I am in no way cutting this place down and will visit again on a non bike night, but just offering my constructive criticism so if they do plan another event it will be more tuned towards better offers towards drawing us "bikers" instead of the 3 regular good customers WITH nice bikes. Thank...
Read moreRecently had family visiting from and wanted to show them McAlpine specifically. Walked in at 850pm on a Saturday night to watch a basketball game at 9pm. (hours states they're open until 11pm) The owner stood behind us and announced that we were not welcome and he "wont cater to people that want to just drink beer and watch a game, because I am a restaurant and not a bar". He then closed and locked the front door and shut off the lights. Clearing closing business at around 930.
I was embarrassed to bring my family here and be called out/singled out by a rude owner. I regret paying for my food and giving him business. The bartender was truly kind about the situation though.
To the owner, your "20 years of restaurant experience" sucks. There are more professional ways of telling customers you are trying to...
Read moreWonderful little place in the neighborhood. Solid menu of the favorites, along with unique choices such as Pilgrim pizza (Thanksgiving themed) , cold beers, good people and very friendly staff. Also fair pricing and generous portions. We ordered half tray of some " fried sicialan pizza " , which was fantastic. It was cooked patiently and was a great model of what Sicilian pizza should be. The crust was perfectly cooked, about 3" inches tall and absolutely delectable. I appreciate that they take their time with food to ensure it's the best. It's a great little joint in between here and there and one of our official " go-to " places . There are daily specials and certain seafood nights and other specialties. Thank you McAlpine for...
