I used to go to the Town Tavern regularly before 2000. I always loved their Cajun wings. The Town Tavern had won numerous awards for their wings "back in the day". Then I moved to Arizona. I have never found a wing sauce thatI liked as much as theirs, since I had not been back to North Eastern Pennsylvania in many years! I have to admit, Buffalo Wings are my favorite food! I would ask for them as a last meal if it ever came to it. I was back to visit family and the Town Tavern was on my "must go" list. I saw some mixed reviews and I didn't know what to expect after 22 years. They did not disappoint! Ashley was our server (and bartender) and she couldn't have been nicer to the three "strangers" who showed up in her dining room. She told me they still had the Cajun wings I loved so much. My husband had the assistance of Justin, one of the cooks, who helped him pick out a wing sauce that was just how he liked it. I actually decided on the Cajun Garlic sauce. My sister decided on a Hot Parmesan sauce. The wings came out hot, crispy and loaded with plenty of sauce. I would highly recommend the Town Tavern for wings and also the Italian Grinder which went home to my brother-in-law. My sister is definitely planning on visiting the Town Tavern in the future and introduce the delicious food that they offer. The best part of my visit is I found out I can order the sauce and have it shipped to Arizona! I won't have to miss my Cajun wing sauce ever again!

What is the difference between tavern and bar? They both serve alcohol, but a tavern is more sophisticated with an “emphasis on the food.” Town Tavern is a simple by nature, with a long bar and a rear seating area with tables and hi-tops. They keep the menu fairly simple by pub grub standards, with pizza, sandwiches and their next-level wings. As the definition says, an emphasis on food, in this case “the wings.” Life is short. Tomorrow is never promised, so Eat the Wings! Enjoy yourself. If you consider them a guilty pleasure, you don’t deserve them. I would say “live deliberately” and try the Cajun or Sweet Thai Chili - my favorite two sauces. The wings come in orders of 10, but based on the size and quality of the wing, 10 is plenty. Would love to see a “fleet” of wings similar to beer tasting. Hard to choose from the 34 sauce flavors and six dry rubs. The cost of the wings are listed on the menu as “market price.” Just like eating a lobster! Regardless of the current price, they are worth every penny. I have seen a few reviews saying it takes too long. Please, if you want fast food, go to a place that serves it. If you want high quality - crispy wing on the outside and juicy on the inside, tossed in one of their beautiful signature sauces, wait for that level of preparation. Highly recommend a visit to the Town Tavern. An order of ten of their wings and a cold on-tap beer is truly one of life’s simple pleasure. Enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think.

You Need To Know? We were able to belly up to the bar, not overcrowded at all. We had the chicken tenders, personal Hawaiian pizza & BBQ Siracha wings, & hot BBQ wings. The wings were crispy & had an excellent presentation (if wings can have a good presentation) with the striping of the sauce. The sauces all had a very hot bite & brought on the sweats! Chicken tenders & fries were as expected. The pizza was a thicker crust but just ordinary. The environment was very nice & clean. The service was prompt & polite! Now You Know!

For all those of you who say the locals are treated better, NOPE! I live in this Dirty town and haven't gotten their wings in a while, always my husband's favorite, we ordered for him, for our anniversary. When I ordered I told the 20 something, not to chrispy. When we got home and put the car away, found them to be so overdone they were inedable. The meat was PETRIFIED! When I called on 1/27 at 4:20PM the 20 something bartender REFUSED to let me speak with the kitchen or gv his name, forced me to tell him the problem. Then he said there was no one in charge then, he would take my n/n for a call back TOMORROW! WHAT? I said I need this resolved then, so he hung up on me. I called back and ANOTHER 20 something answered, said he wasn't the Bartender, that he worked in the kitchen, I told him the prob, he started to point blame on others.. I said I was not calling to point out who.. just looking for a resolution. Then he agreed to make a new order but there's no delivery, had to take the car out again, but at least he agreed to bring them out to the car. He did apopogize but this place has gone to the Gen Z's! If they win another award for their wings, DON'T FALL FOR IT, ALL SHOW!! Plus, because these complaint reviews go unanswered, they...
