What we thought was a gem of a place turned out to be very disappointing! The first thing was a very visible dirty fork. I let that slide, just asked for another one. My orange juice had white stuff floating in it, no big deal ..just ask for another one, but then my sister says this orange juice tastes like rotted oranges, so I told her please just water instead. My brother in law drank his coffee to find " unidentifiable" stuff at the bottom of his cup, then his omelet was supposed to be without mushrooms, and he had mushrooms in it. The server was too busy to come back to our table for water refills, I had to go ask for the clean fork I previously asked for, and had to go ask for drink refill. We would not go there again, It was a very nice little shop, but the food side of it was questionable this morning! The person at the register gave $1 discount for the omelet that was barely eaten. They didn't seem to be concerned and I guess they do not have to be, there is nothing else around for miles! If there was competition maybe things...

I'm an out of towner here. Once or twice a year, I take some peaceful time away at World's End State Park. If I lived in the area, the staff would know my name, and I would always sit at the counter. The space reminds me of an old soda shop and cafe. And while the food selections are basic like many older diners, each dish is homemade at the location and the love shows. Do you like pie, cake chili, omelettes, pancakes, soup, Sandwiches, etc...(even hot dogs- now I've lost all credibility). The prices are fair if not great deals. The coffee is the only thing underwhelming. . The serving staff works like mad to please. I must say, I have been there when they've gotten slammed with seating. I think they rise to the occasion. Yet for me, I would sit and wait. I like their food this much. NOTE- They are only open for breakfast and lunch,...

My family went to the Whistle stop for breakfast this morning. We ordered breakfast but realized right away we wanted to change one of the things on the order. I asked the waitress if we could make a change to the order and she was very pleasant and accommodating. The cook on the other hand made it very clear (to the entire restaurant )that this was a big inconvenience. I would have been satisfied if the waitress would have come back and said “a change in the order wasn’t possible”, this would have been totally understandable. Instead, the cook was loud, rude, and repeatedly made comments about the order change, so everyone could hear. I was so embarrassed! I even offered to take both orders and pay for them, hoping this would stop her from being so loud. Making people feel uncomfortable because your doing what you get paid to do...

I met my friend and we had our kids with us the food was very good but the service was exceptional the guy who was serving us was very attentive and nice enjoyed the atmosphere and the kids absolutely loved the train going around the restaurant. They were closing soon so we couldn't really look around the store they had but we'll go back.

Food a tad expensive, quite tasty... figure they're using quality ingredients!! Almost like an indoor festival... model train running dining room perimeter on overhead track, vintage items on display, and old-fashioned novelties (i.e. rubber band pistols, paddle-balls). Very friendly staff and prompt service.
