A Hidden Gem. I go there for lunch whenever I can qGreat turkey sandwiches with stuffing, mayo and cranberry sauce served on either wheat or white bread. They also have great fried chicken and unbelievable pies by the slice or whole. They have picnic tables outside. They also have the best while complete holiday dinner. Do yourself a favor and try Bongis.

I got a scrumptious turkey gobbler sandwich from here. This was my first turkey sandwich. The sandwich was easy to eat, turkey meat was not dry, and cranberry sauce was fresh. By the way, the cornbread was good. I was satisfied with my dinner.

Terrible customer service, the owner (Sr.) and cashier were completely rude. Went to Bongi's with a buy one get one free Fried Chicken Box Lunch coupon from the Masspass book. The coupon says you get a complimentary Fried Chicken Box Lunch when a second Fried Chicken Box Lunch of equal or greater value is purchased. No other limitations are on it.

The sign on the counter window says, Fried Chicken Box Lunch $7.69 plus tax, all white meat $9.09 plus tax. It's all in one square on a sign that says, "What's For Lunch?"

I showed the girl at the counter my coupon and asked for two white meat Box Lunches. She goes to the owner, comes back and says, you can't use the coupon for all white meat. I asked to speak with the owner, she completely rolls her eyes and says, you want to talk to him? I said yes. He comes over and I asked him why he wouldn't honor his coupon. Very loudly he yells at me, the all-white meat is NOT a Box Lunch. I said, your sign certainly says it is. Then he starts to get even nastier and tells me that all white meat is a "Special Order" and is NOT a Boxed Lunch. No use arguing with stupidity, I bought my chicken at full price and left, you couldn't give me enough free things to go back there! Seriously, it was like a Seinfeld episode with the Soup Nazi. I'm surprised he let me buy anything at all.

I called Masspass and complained, they agreed with me, the guy was wrong. I'm not bringing them any more business and advising anyone and everyone to pass by this place. What ever happened to the customer is always right (especially when...

They have delicious fresh fried chicken or frozen if you want some for later time. Their pies are delicious too. Blueberry is best I’ve had. I love their Thanksgiving sandwiches, their turkey salad, and I’ve been a customer there for years. Just the best! UPDATE: I recently visited Bongi’s along with a friend and I am terribly disappointed, after always loving their food and everything for much of my life. Their prices went up utterly ridiculously higher. Almost $20 for their pies. Their turkey salad went through the roof with the price! I wanted to get some of their fried chicken from the freezer case and it, along with most of their frozen meals were in such disarray. The frozen fried chicken was overcooked, “Before” I even heated it. I got a Thanksgiving sandwich to go and the bread was stale. After all the many years of loving their food, I am very, VERY saddened and disappointed with one of my LIFELONG favorite places to patron. Perhaps their newer generation of operators has forgotten what kept this once beloved place to patron, not just for myself, but for sooo many others, I’m sure. A business doesn’t Stay in business for so many decades by making such drastic changes, without thinking through how those changes will affect their Loyal patrons. Their younger Operators apparently didn’t learn the well known rule, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix...

Bongies Turkey Farm...I remember it from childhood. Now turkeys "Roost" there. The small shop can be crowded, but the wait is rarely long. Bongies is a takeout place with a few picnic tables outside. They focus on cooked turkey and chicken, available in sandwiches, frozen meals, and freshly cooked, all to go.

Fried chicken is popular as are turkey sandwiches and "sides"-- mashed potatoes, gravy, winter squash, garlicky green beans, Cole slaw, potato salad, corn bread, and more. Pies are sold as well.

Convenience comes at a price. I purchased a pound of sliced turkey for almost $15 as well as a pint of potatoes, a pint of squash, and a half-pint of gravy for approximately another $10.

The sides are good, like home cooking. Even in the sandwiches, the turkey seems to be not as tender and moist as it used to be, but it's good because it's not laden with salt and other preservatives.

Bongis is definitely worth a visit for either a quick sandwich or prepared take-home meal items--as well as for it's presence as an historic institution on the...
