Ruben's Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Dyer

I’ve been to this location over a handful of times. Today was the absolute worst service I’ve ever had. I ordered 3 tacos by themselves, 2 taco lunch specials (2 tacos with rice and beans) and 1 carne en su jugo the total coming out to $45 and some change. Normal and seemed to be right. We pick up and the bag seemed light so we check and we’re missing the rice and beans for both specials. Go in and they say they didn’t charge for that. We clearly said specials on the phone. I asked for a price breakdown and there was $9 and some change left unaccounted for. We ordered a 2 ounce cup of sour cream and avocado slices but there’s no way that cost almost $10 extra… wouldn’t give the rice and beans so we went ahead and paid for that “again” in my mind only cause it was for a birthday celebration and didn’t have time to argue all day. Guess how much the rice and beans were…..$9 and some change….. odd right… also my order was wrong for one of the lunch specials. Asked for flour tortillas got corn and didn’t even get the sour cream that was asked for…. Not to mention the meat quality has gone down significantly. Lots of fat pieces and not enough meat. Won’t be going back again. Javier was extremely rude and probably scamming everyone else...

Walked in, the young man with blonde hair told us we could not sit at a table , so off to a small booth ! Another young man with black hair was are waiter. We didn't even sit down for 40 seconds & he was asking for are order . I Give him are drink order. After he got are drink order to the table ( about 1 minute) he was asking for are order . I told him to give us a couple more minutes. Dam, he is back in 20 seconds ! Give him are appetizer order, he left & was right back at are table within seconds . Wanted are dinner order , i told him I was deciding on which plate i wanted ( stalling for time ) . He came back in less then 5 minutes & we gave him are dinner order ! Out came are appetizer & ⅓ of the way thur eating are appetizer ARE MAIN MEAL SHOWS UP ! Ask for take out bag for are appetizer's so we could eat dinner . Steak Burrito was dry & filled with lettuce i could hardly see the dry steak , rice & beans were cold ! Don't even want to try to tell about my wife's dinner ! We will not be BACK ! DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS A RUMOR THAT NEW OWNERS TOOK OVER , SO YOU...

I heard about Ruben's through a friend of mine and drove the extra drive to try it out but unfortunately i was disappointed..I gave it 2 stars because the staff was very friendly. I am a big bean tostada eater so i had to order 1 on the side to try and i was confused on the presentation. Plated with two round hard shell tostada shells 1 with beans with lettuce, tomatoe, and cheese on the side What im i doing with the extra fried shell?. I thought when i was told authentic i was going to get crumbled cheese and rich sauces. Anyways now to the beef enchilada dinner with red sauce and a side of rice..I did like the beef with chucks of potatoe but the sauce tasted like it was out of a can and the rice out of a box..Maybe i just didnt order the right things.. When i went up to pay bill the kitchen was visable behind the cashier and the floor was on both sides were filthy dirty and they had just opened.. Sorry...
