These men gave up their lives for the Salvation of the world and have dedicated their lives to pray for us to turn to Christ. they are not professional Bakers. they never said they were. they are trying to make a living while adherence to God's laws. We need to support, love, and pray for our clergy, not insult them and punish them for the efforts they make. They are not Betty Crocker Martha Stewart or Emeril Lagasse they are Servants of Christ doing the best they can under the eyes of Christ. I'm going to be praying for the conversion of every single person who complained about a muffin or a brownie that somehow didn't reach their standard or because they felt that one of the monks wasn't as patient as kind as they felt they should have been. I'm going to pray for everyone to have a charitable and poor spirit. We all fall short of the glory of God. For the sake of a sorrowful passion have mercy on us and on the whole world. May you all read the Beatitudes and study them and understand...
Read moreThis place holds a really special place in my heart, I've been coming here since I was a little kid on our trips to Copper Harbor area, and 20+ years later it's fun to visit again and buy the same baked treats I loved back then. And let me tell you, these are some of the best baked goods you will ever have, ever. It's impressive that they've maintained the same quality for decades, even with the increase in visitors.

My favorites are always the cream cheese poundcake muffin and the German chocolate cake with the...
Read moreIn my travels with The Lord this summer, I was recommended, by a man in Calumet, to visit this gem and the experience did not disappoint! What a unique and delicious adventure it is to visit this lovely monastery shoppe. The Ukrainian Orthodox monks who reside and work here were kind and charming, and their lovely jams, jellies, fruit butters and sweets—pastries, chocolates, caramels, cake loaves, and more—are unlike anything else you’ll find in the Yoop (possibly, the entire country!). The THIMBLEBERRY jelly alone is worth the visit, and makes a wonderful gift for the people you love, whom God has Blessed you with, and they won’t find anything like it elsewhere!
If you’re in the area, check this place out!! If you aren’t in the area: time for a road trip!
Also!!
The monks maintain a great little trail that heads up to a waterfall and some ruins; it’s located adjacent to the shoppe, and it’s a quaint little...
