TLDR: Delicious, hearty food, piping hot from the kitchen. Butter Chicken is always a safe choice for someone trying for the first time with plenty of Naan!
Quality of Food: I had the Butter Chicken which was amazing. It's a pretty standard recipe so I can't really compare to other restaurants, but it was hearty and filling. Each dish comes with a side of rice, and you can't go wrong with an order of garlic Naan. It was extraordinarily hot, I honestly could have waited a few minutes before eating it to let it cool down.
Quality of Service: The gentleman who waited on us was very polite and was able to balance two other tables and several door dasher's coming in for pickups. We did not wait long at all for the food to come out.
Environment & Ambiance: The tables and dishware are a nice touch, but the atmosphere is all over the place and confusing. I was not sure if we were to sit down like a restaurant or order at the counter first. (You sit down if it's dine in.) Although we had to pay at the register when we were done. Drinks are bottled so you have to go grab that yourself as well. There is a mural of burgers and pizza that threw me off and a giant ice-cream sign above where the drinks were. But that's just me being knick-picky.
Pricing and Concerns: I need to compare to other Indian restaurants. The portions were deceiving, as it was a small pot and small bowl for serving sizes, but as I was eating it I quickly became full. I still feel as though I've gotten far larger serving sizes for the same price at other restaurants. $60 for two dishes, two sides of naan, two drinks and a 20% tip.
Comment and Recommendation: I would most certainly recommend for someone to go and try this restaurant. It is a gem in the desert of Indian cuisine in Southern Ocean County and is a great place to go to...
Read moreThis is a review with Loving Kitchen's online order using Grubhub.
I ordered a $60.00 worth of food from Loving Kitchen through Grubhub (total of $79.00 including tip). There were some issues with the delivery and I never received my food (Grubhub's mistake). I contacted Grubhub and requested a redelivery, the rep put me on hold so that she can contact Loving Kitchen only to be told that Grubhub cancelled my order and I will get a $10.00 coupon for my inconvenience and the rep hang up.
I contacted Loving Kitchen, a very polite gentleman from Loving Kitchen told me that he was informed by Grubhub that the "costumer's (me) order has been cancelled and refunded" and to "give your food to the homeless"- very insensitive on Grubhub's part. I informed the guy that I never cancelled my order but instead asked for a redelivery, long story short, I picked up the food. The gentleman in the counter was very polite and patient, he managed to have a smile on his face. He even included a free mango lassi because just because I came and picked up the food. The service was good, food was good. Samosa was outstanding, the chicken korma became my daughter's new favorite. Little bit issue but no big deal at all was, instead of getting the lamb biryani is I received the chicken biryani, either food is good.
I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was really good. Service was good, the location- conveniently located at the gasoline station. Prices are reasonable. I will forever be a...
   Read moreNOT VEGAN/VEGETARIAN FRIENDLY
I work in the local food service industry, I love trying new food when I can, especially Indian food. However, I'm also vegan and it limits which restaurants I can eat at.
A couple months ago I was excited to try this new Indian restaurant, but was unable to find time off work since it was peak busy season. I ordered delivery to my work and got the chana masala, even calling ahead to see if it could be veganized so I wasn't a bother. They assured me on the phone as long as I put it in the description, they will be accommodating for a vegan diet.
Yet, when I finally had time to go in to try it in person, they told me none of their dishes can be made vegan, and all the sauces were premade.
I was embarrassed and felt lied to (having previously ordered food there). They must have just given me whatever they wanted to give, instead of it being actually veganized.
I normally don't have issues with not being able to order food somewhere, because I understand not everyone's accommodating. Although, the fact I was lied to, and I have a dairy allergy makes it a lot worse. (Was a little sick the day after eating the chana but chalked it up to just eating something new.)
As a chef, them pre-making their sauces says to me they can put whatever animal-derived stocks, fats, or anything, then later say it's either vegetarian or vegan to lie to the customers.
I'm extremely disappointed because Indian food is honestly my...
