This is a very nice place. Famous for their delicious ice cream. We tried all the varieties and our most favourite ice cream is "Coconut Ice Cream". Their waffle is also tasty. Should try once. Kids love this place. We visited on weekend and there was a queue starting from outside to inside but the serving was so fast. They do accepts all the card/cash payment. Staff are polite. They do serve the ice cream in 3 ways. Normal cone, waffle and cup. Waffle is little pricy compare to other but worth to have.
We can get the ice cream and have it outside and enjoy. They do have the tables outside to sit and enjoy as a family. They do have drive through as well to get the ice creams and other stuff. We can try more than 1 scoop with different flavours of ice cream. Along with Ice Cream, they've Milk, Eggs (white & brown), Cheese, Cakes, Popcorn etc. All the dairy items are cheaper compare to usual grocery stores.
Parking is available for free. Based on the in flow of customers, they kept the parking lines into farm field as well. They have Corn field with full of sweet corns. The Cows are one more attractive here. We can feed the cows with the food that is already available. We can even touch with our hands. My kids enjoyed them watching eating and feeling them by touching with our bare hands.
A small tractor toy is there where kids can play for some time. We can spend at least an hour here. Toilet is...
Read moreLapp Valley Farm offers the best black raspberry ice cream in Lancaster County. I never thought I would choose another flavor as my favorite but the black cherry is one experience you must try. The ice cream is phenomenal and I love the big farm house porch during quiet days. On a busy day, you cannot beat the ice cream, milk shake, farm store drive thru window. It is not unusual to see a horse and buggy picking up a sweet treat or the motor scooter club out for a ride.
Families can tour the farm areas and see the Jersey cows which produce the very creamy ice cream. It is an experience which should not be missed. If you go into the little country farm store to select your ice cream, you will be enticed by the fresh milk, yogurt, butter and the gallon/half gallon/pints etc. Be warned, the smell of waffle cones will make your mouth salivate as you wait your turn. I highly suggest getting the waffle cone as they are a treat in themselves. The staff is very friendly and efficient.
A true Lancaster County treasure in a beautiful farm setting. A lovely outing not to be missed. Traditional homemade flavors include: vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, butter pecan, butter brickle, chocolate marshmallow, mint chocolate chip, peanut butter twirl, cookies and cream, black raspberry, black cherry, etc.
Additional locations include: Kitchen Kettle Village and Green...
Read moreI’ve had ice cream all over the world and this easily is the best! It’s super creamy and smooth. They give huge portions. So for that they get 5 stars.
The reason I’m giving them 1 star? The treatment of their animals. I can’t with good conscience support them no matter how good their ice cream is. They use antibiotics on their cows and (being Mennonite) breed bulldogs as a side hustle (one of the reasons why Lancaster County is the Puppy Mill capital of the world). Their cats they feel are only for controlling mice so they don’t give them any supplemental food. Hence they are always super skinny. They let them breed indiscriminately and the kittens are always scrawny with gunky eyes and upper respiratory infections. A couple years ago I actually helped them get all their cats sterilized (for free). I also dropped off 30 pounds of cat food (hint, hint). What did they do? They went out and picked up 5 FREE kittens and then let THEM breed. If any customers want a kitten? They just take them - Lapp Valley doesn’t do vet checks or get references or lift a finger to insure the kitties are going to responsible, loving homes. I’m sure as soon as the novelty of the new kitten wears off it just gets dumped (unsterilized) causing problems for...
