Today I went to the Tiki Bar for the first time with my mother, girlfriend, and her friend. I Had high expectations going in from things I had heard about from a friend recently. To my surprise, the waiting staff was very rude to us. We did not receive good service on our drinks, and the food is extremely overpriced. My girlfriend paid $30 for a 6 oz. filet, bear in mind, nobody is bringing this food out to you, and you have to cook it yourself, which is kind of the hook of the whole restaurant, but that should be taken into accountability in the pricing. On top of that, one ignorant member of the waiting staff humiliated my mother in front of another group of costumers. I am of legal age but had forgotten my I.D. so my mother bought me one beer, only one, and some schmuck in a straw hat comes by and starts talking to my mother like she is a child very loudly as other costumers are looking over at this going down. My mother apologized and handled it like an adult while this employee was still acting very childish and upset about the whole ordeal, though he later apologized I was still not pleased with his behavior. So overall if you are at all interesting in half decent food at extremely high prices that you have to cook yourself, with bad service and rude waiting staff to boot, by all means check out...
Read moreWe've been here twice and like it very much. It's always a good time and it's nice to get away from the usual burger joints. I wouldn't classify this as fine dining tho. The food is OK, but borderline over the hill in some cases. Frankly, I get the impression they don't have trained food prep people or staff, but they seem to do a good job anyway. I don't think I'd try their raw bar...looks like nobody else does either. And all the food is somewhat overpriced considering you cook it and it's on paper plates. But you are paying for the experience and atmosphere, of which this place has tons. Maybe too much...kinda hard to tell what the theme is...Mardi Gras over here, Caribbean over there, Key West over here, English pub over there. But all fun in the end. There are many pros and cons, but I think overall they do a good job...the parking is indeed tight, but they have 2 guys who do a good job of getting everyone in. Sometimes they have inadequate staff, other times too many. Guess it depends when you get there or who calls off. And their indoor sunken BBQ pit is one fall away from a lawsuit. But it is a fun place and a decent time, especially on summer evenings. I'd recommend everyone at least...
Read moreWent there with big group after enjoying zipline. Was never there b4. Menu sign was hard to read, bc chaulk was light on menu board, and bright sun made it very hard to read. Also several meats/kabobs in case were hard to distinguish bc covered in sauce. Didn't know what meat/what sauce was. After seeing what friends ordered/what was on their plates, I was finally able to order. W/out asking them it would have been much more confusing to order. If I had been there sev times, would be easier to order I think. But as newbie it was confusing. Cooked food while bbq area was really crowded and had to wait for tongs sev times. Sat down at table and enjoyed my meal. Server was very attentive. We never waited long for drinks. Had one ready b4 we finished last few gulps. Great! He was very fast at cleaning up used plates/cups and wiping table down. Exellent server couldn't ask for better and there was 8 at table so we kept him busy, along w his other tables. He was on top of it whole time. Had a great experience there. Would...
