Vesta 88 River House & The Barge Patio Bar — Restaurant in East Bethlehem Township

After a recommendation from a client, I made the 40 minute drive on my birthday night for something new. Being I love a water view, it seemed a perfect way to end the summer. Disappointingly, the larger inside menu is served on the deck in takeout containers....strange but we agreed. The waiter couldnt be any nicer and was very thorough. This is why I didn't but should have made a fuss about our meals. We ordered a rib filled ravioli which was only partially cooked as in sticky doughy uncooked. My veal dish was as tough as a shoe sole. I gave up after trying to saw the first piece. My daughters seafood pasta was drenched in basically milk with lemon juice and butter. The sauce on the veal and ravioli was a spin on the gravy served on our poutine appetizer. I have to say the salad was the only thing that was made properly. We left extremely disappointed and once again feeling burned by subpar food. Being my young daughters footed the birthday bill, it wouldnt leave my mind and I preceeded to call the next day to ask for a portion of my bill to be credited. Ive waited 2 days for a return call from the owner...nothing. People say, dont lash out publicly without reaching out first to management. Well I did and I guess they feel its not important enough to speak to me about my dissatisfaction. So here is my public review along with tens of people I have described my lousy birthday dinner to when asked how my day was. Take criticism seriously. Im not just some moron, I've been in the food business for 40+ years. One outright ignored complaint from a customer can be a kiss of death as their unhappiness spreads like a virus by...

A great experience!

I have been to two different functions at Vista 88 so far. A birthday party and a baseball banquet. The food was very good, especially at the birthday party where delicious appetizers were brought out. You can tell that the restaurant puts a lot of love into the recipes as they are definitely a high-end taste. An excellent restaurant to eat at for any day or occasion!

It is so amazing how they transformed The Riv into Vesta 88. It’s like it’s a completely brand new building that was built from the ground up, though it wasn’t. The theme is focused on the coal mining industry with amazing wallpaper and decor pieces here and there. A very cool vibe!

The birthday party was held in one of the rooms off to the side downstairs and was very nice. The baseball banquet was held upstairs in a room that can be used for just about anything. Think baby or wedding showers, banquets, reunions, etc..Restrooms are available on both floors.

The servers are very friendly and attentive to their diners. Awesome service! Be sure to check out their daily specials!

We ran across Vesta 88 at the Greene County Harvest Festival in Waynesburg Pa. Met Brian there and had to try the delicious smelling food. After enjoying an Italian sausage baguette at the festival, and seeing what a great guy Brian was, my wife and I had to try the restaurant. First noted, was how clean and inviting it was. The wait staff couldn’t have been nicer and more attentive. We just bought dishes off of the appetizer menu because it was early and we hadn’t brought our appetite. I had the stuffed mushrooms and poutine. Remember I said I wasn’t hungry 🤔. Both dishes were fresh, hot and delicious. The seafood stuffing in the mushrooms was one of the best I’d ever had. My wife had the flatbread. It was delicious. Fresh and homemade tasting. We can’t wait to go back and try the blackened ribeye or lasagna. It’s worth a trip if you’re not local. Finding great food at a reasonable cost is so challenging. We’ll definitely...
