Thoroughbred’s Bar & Grille — Restaurant in East Hanover Township

I love this bar!!! Everyone is so nice, and the bartenders are great. I’m so glad that I happened upon this place. Many good times with many more to come.

It truly saddens me that just a year ago it was the best local little bar with the absolute best bartenders, food, other customers that quickly became friends. Tonight I took 4 friends and told them what a great place to hang out. The bartender was very rude, impatient, and told the five of us that she would absolutely not serve any of us and told us to leave. The only thought I could come up with was, 1, another new bartender, that had zero interest in our business. The bartenders seemed to come and go frequently. If I’m not mistaken, there are only two that were there when I started going there. One of those two has gone to part time. I don’t know why the turnover, but it is a very sad thing. I asked the bartender her name and she was very snappy, but told me that her name was Cheryl. I really enjoy a lot of the same people who I met there around a year ago. Even the regulars aren’t quite as regular. I absolutely will give it/her another try, but another experience like tonight, and I will definitely resort to finding out who is tending bar before I give it a 3rd chance. Me & my friends went into this bar on Wednesday. We also used to go often too. They checks our ID’s which they have to do before ordering any alcohol. But on Wednesday evening guy name Mike asked for our ID’s and instead of checking front of us he took our ID’s and walk all way back to cooler and checking our ID’s. We asked him why you check our ID’s all way down to back side of cooler and he’s giving information about Pennsylvania law to check ID’s. But I asked him about taking our ID’s all way to back side. And he has no answer and telling us if you don’t like my bar you guys can go. It’s so rude and unprofessional treating customers. After 40 minutes one group of boys & girls came into bar and he just check 1 person ID only instead of checking everyone ID’s. Great local hangout. Very inexpensive. Stellar spot to hangout if you are not looking for anything fancy. One of my favorite things about this place is that it's almost like your traveling back to a simpler time. Also the parking lot is huge and will accomidate tractor trailers or trucks hauling trailers. But please, don't drink and drive!!!! A TON of families live on that road and there is also usually a fair amount of traffic on 743.

Another thing to add is that the food here is great, again if your not looking for anything fancy. Beer is always cold , and tapped to perfection, and the bartenders know how to pour a mean cocktail!
