I love going here, it really never disappoints. Actually that's a lie, one time they were out of salad and so I couldn't eat their taco salad, it was a sad day. That being said, I had their delicious enchiladas with the red sauce. I've never ventured to try anything else than their chicken but I've never heard anyone complain over their meal. I highly recommend their wine margarita, with a salted rim of course. The beans they have are incredible and in all honesty I could eat those alone for a meal, so yummy. This place is small so winter months it can be crammed. If you can make it on a warmer day then do so and make use of their outdoor seating. They even have shade so you don't get a sunburn. The owner is there a lot and he's a super guy, always making rounds to see if everyone is satisfied with their meal....
Read moreThis is probably some of the worst "Mexican" food I've had. Not even Mexican, more Tex Mex. The girl taking our order was very nice and helpful, but the food itself was very....meh. The rice was either old or not fully cooked and was pretty bland, the enchilada sauce was watery and seemed like it came from a can, and the tortillas for the tacos tasted old and were cold and dried out. The meat was decently seasoned, but nothing else seemed very good or even fresh. If you're in search of fresh and authentic Mexican food that's actually worth the prices they were charging,...
Read moreKarmadillos has one of the, if not the most unique location in Helena. Sitting right on the top corner of Reeder's Alley, diners have a fantastic view of historic downtown and surrounding mountains. But, I wasn't too impressed with the food. I ordered the special, which was some sort of mix of chicken, beef, pork, and buffalo on a bed of rice and topped with salsas. Flavor was okay, but the rice was extremely under cooked. There was a bottle on the table with a warning label on it, letting the consumer know that the contents are not ketchup. Okay, it must be salsa/hot sauce then? I wish they would have warned me about the heat level instead. That stuff must be made with ghost peppers or something, because it was too...
