Mooseshack — Restaurant in East Millinocket

The bride and I travel 90 miles to give this place a try. It’s only been open a couple weeks and has a couple kinks to work out , but the food was awesome and atmosphere was great and definitely different from anything around. The wife had the turkey club and I had the cheese steak.. both were really good… but if I would have known about the bbq ribs first I would have had them..there is a big outside area didn’t know about that when we got there so we sat inside if we would have known we probably would have sat outside.. I would suggest some signage to tell people to seat themselves and a sign letting people know about the outside seating.. as well as where the restrooms are.. but dam this will be a destination...

I'm NOT impressed at all. No handicap parking. Not a very good way for people in wheelchairs to get in the front door well (there is a about a 3 inch bump from the parking lot to the sidewalk by the front of the building up to the door) No sign to say please sit yourself, so we were there waiting for a long time. No one greeted us when we entered. We ordered an appetizer of cheese curds, and we got 8 teeny tiny curds. We have been waiting over an hour and a half for our food and still don't have it yet. We have had 2 different waitresses, and no one seems to know what's happening or how much longer it will be to get our food, and it's not even that...

We took friends here because it's a cool local spot with local flair. But this time the food and service were both lacking. We waited forever for our drinks - while our waitress chatted with customers. and the food came after 45 minutes. Many others who came after us got food before us. The taco salad had nothing on it- the burgers were big but mixed up as to well done or medium, the fish was small and we all were disappointed in general. The only really good item was the pizza.
