El Sombrero Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in East Port Orchard

Ok, so my wife, who is Chinese, and used to work at a Mexican restaurant while she was putting herself through college, LOVES this place. Everything we have ordered here is fantastic - even the refried beans and rice, which I usually find quite bland, are actually enjoyable here. We found the staff to be quite friendly as well, always ready to share a smile and a friendly comment as we poured gushing praise on them for the food. This place is so good we went back for a take out order a few days after our first stop here, and food was just as good. I would say the tamale is a must try, I ordered an extra one this time because I knew that I would want one for a leftover tomorrow, and I knew that I wouldn't be able to stop once I started eating the first one. The salsa is quite good too - nothing fancy, just nice and fresh with the right hint of spice. When we dined in they gave us a small side dish of bean dip to go along with the standard chips and salsa - don't see that often! Cravings satisfied, 5 stars earned.

Forgot to mention that the service was extremely fast as well during the evening hours when we dined there both times. We ordered when leaving Port Orchard and the food was easily ready by the time we got to Belfair. When we dined in the food came out super fast too.

For takeout we spent around $30 for the Taste of History combo meal with an extra tamale and a side of sour cream. When we dined in it was around $50 for the two of us ordering combo meals that gave us leftovers for a...

We understand how our favorite eats are struggling through this moment in time, and too the consequence's they face if not to abide by the stringent rules set forth, and as in everything in life~ compromising without breaking the rules was strategically met.

El Sombrero displayed exemplary customer service, it was the most exciting event we had in quite awhile (that sounds so..... Anyway made me laugh) no phones, no distractions to take our focus off of the current experience we were having. Wow, socializing.......in person......having a great time and enjoying a superb...

The El Sombrero feels to me like a local mom and pop with a touch of azteca for good commercial measure! The service was prompt and friendly, and our orders were ready in record time! This was a Sunday early evening, so the brunch buffet crowd was gone and if a sunday has a dinner rush we were ahead of it. My bacon wrapped shrimp dish was excellent, and the portion ample enough for 2 if you're not starving, or maybe even if you are! The tab was under $40 for 2 before tip and we werent watching prices.
