I’m excited to see Gourmet United has opened in our town! The food quality definitely stands out from typical deli fare, which shows real promise for this concept.
What’s Working Well:
Food quality exceeds standard deli expectations Unique positioning between casual deli and basic restaurant dining
Areas for Enhancement: The pricing suggests a restaurant-level experience ($25 for Chicken Tikka Masala, $45 for Lamb Chops), but the service model currently feels more deli-focused. To match the price point with the experience, I’d suggest:
Outdoor Service: When guests choose to dine on the patio, consider table service rather than requiring them to come inside for pickup. This would significantly elevate the dining experience. Presentation: At these price points, plated presentation rather than takeout containers would better match customer expectations, especially for dine-in guests. Clear Service Model: Consider defining whether you’re positioning as a premium deli with counter service or a casual restaurant with table service, then align all touchpoints accordingly.
The foundation is strong - with some service refinements to match the quality and pricing, this could become a real destination spot even for a sit down lunch and dinner and a gathering place in town. Looking forward to seeing how you develop this concept and hope it can survive the...
Read moreFirst time here and will return. Tried the carne asada tacos. Meat was well seasoned, nice char but also tender. Corn tortillas were fresh. The hotter sauce option did not disappoint, it had great heat and flavor. I chose salad instead of rice and beans and the salad was ok, nothing special, my mistake, I should have tried the rice and beans. While I truly enjoyed the food the wait time for the order was very long. I was the only customer in the building when I ordered and it was probably a 20 minute wait for a single order. The place was full of workers. From what I saw they are a caterer. Most employees were filling coolers and carts and bringing them out to their trucks. When you order you can choose dine jn or take out, but despite the very large interior space there is no inside seating. Outdoor area is good for nice days. Not sure exactly what they are trying to be, restaurant or caterer. I will be back as I would like to try some of the Indian...
Read moreWe really enjoyed ordering from here. I loved the cauliflower ceviche and the many vegetarian options they offered. My sons each got tacos- fish and brisket and LOVED them. My husband enjoyed the lamb vindaloo although it was really spicy but he likes a kick. My daughter got the tikka and it was a hit across everyone in our family as they all enjoyed a taste. My only suggestion would be to please offer more rice with the Indian dishes :) even with ordering an extra rice, it wasn’t nearly enough! But can’t wait to come back! Thank you for a great...
