Update 7/18/25 We took our Granddaughter who was down visiting from Western TN. I had the fried taco's and she had a bacon hamburger. Both were out of this world. Very tasty. Great service too.

Update 12/17/22 Went with my girl today. It was slow but service was not the greatest (had to ask for refills and had to get up to get another ketchup bottle when ours ran out), especially since we were only one of three tables with customers but the Cheeseburger from Paradise Combo was excellent. Very big and tasty with just the right amount of jalapenos for that nice bite. The fries were perfectly crispy.

Went today to check it out after seeing the video from Labor day weekend. I had crawfish bisque type of dip with chips (I honestly forgot what it was called) and it was very good. One of my favorite bartender's are there now, Ashley Cannon, which is really exciting. She's so awesome at customer service and making you feel like family. Jenny, Peter and everyone else was so super nice. The service was great, the atmosphere inside and out on the back deck were great. I love that I could bring my dog on the back deck. Definitely a great place...

🌴 Phenomenal Dockside Dining at Gilligil’s Island in Slidell! 🌴 Gilligil’s Island is a must-visit spot that offers the perfect mix of great food, atmosphere, and hospitality. I stopped in solo and felt completely welcomed from the moment I arrived. The owner was incredibly kind and took time to chat, making the experience feel like more than just a meal… it felt like being part of the community.

The food was outstanding, fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love. The drinks were just as impressive, perfectly balanced and refreshing. And the setting? Absolutely beautiful. With a laid-back vibe and a spectacular back porch overlooking the water, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to relax and linger a little longer.

Even as a party of one, I felt completely at home. And for those bringing the family, it’s absolutely kid-friendly. Whether you’re flying solo or with a group, Gilligil’s Island is a gem in Slidell that delivers on every...

This is my 3rd time at this place and I enjoy myself every time. The atmosphere inside is great, I lovveee their decor! Obviously outside is amazing too. Today when I went, I sat outside and they had lots of fans going to keep us cool and they did! And it kept the flies away from my food! The food isn’t spectacular but it isn’t horrible. They have good bones, just need a little something extra to make the food hit. Like The shrimp tacos could use some more baja sauce to make them really hit. All in all, It’s honestly the service and atmosphere that keeps me coming back. And the drinks are good too. I’m a black woman and I come here for solo meals and I always feel welcome, the staff are attentive and I never feel out of place being here. If you’re looking for a place to chill at, hear good music (their playlist hits every time), and some good food, this is the place. The drinks...

We had stopped in for an early lunch, and were pleasantly surprised by the fun island atmosphere. We sat outside on the porch, which overlooked a pirate-themed play area and a small dock. There are a few large ceiling fans that kept the temperature tolerable. For the starter, we ordered the grilled corn. Overall, it was good, but could have benefited from a slight bit of char. For entrees, we had the Minnow Tacos, hamburger, shrimp tacos, and chicken tostada. All were excellent. The presentation of both taco dishes emphasized the copious amount of fresh flavors on the plates. All in all, this was a fun excursion complemented by solidly good food.

All I have to say is - don’t judge a book by its cover. The storefront may be unassuming but the inside and back are incredible. This may very well become our favorite restaurant on the northshore! The food was amazing, the service was friendly and quick, the pirate ship for the kids made for a peaceful experience for us as parents to enjoy our meal while keeping an eye on our little ones, and the atmosphere was overall incredible. The only adjustment we would have loved would be a safety fence to keep little toddlers safe from the dangerous dock/deep water. Will definitely visit again! Thanks for a great experience.
