Oak Grove Tavern — Restaurant in Eden Township

We thought we’d check out a different place to eat, so we went to Oak Grove. Our waitress, bless her heart and shame on me for not remembering her name. She was so sweet, so helpful and just a great waitress. She made us feel at home. The food was your average bar food, which we expected. After we were done eating, my husband purchased a few pull-tabs. Just something to do. We had our 5yo with us and she had pulled open a couple of them. It was our understanding that they were not sold to a minor and she was not cashing them in, so no harm. I’m probably wrong and will accept that. However, our waitress was in the middle of politely telling us that we could not let the little one touch them when she was rudely interrupted by who I can only assume is the owner /manager who began to chastise us like teenagers in high school. There were none left to be opened anyway. I get it, their house, their rules and we were “wrong”, but he wasn’t very welcoming and has no business treating customers with such anger and rudeness. Explaining that even touching the pull tabs was not allowed would have been better. The server was polite, it didn’t need to escalate...

I was with a fabulous group of ladies in Irons this weekend. Stopped at the Oak Grove on Friday night. Had a blast!!!! We were actually thanked by some locals for the entertainment. Decided to go back for dinner and drinks Saturday night. We walked in, sat down, and ended up getting served glasses of ice with a one pitcher of water. They refused our service and judged us ladies!!! Telling us we were to drunk to be served. No one was drunk or belligerent. They lost 15 customers and probably a few hundred bucks. Good for them to watch out for themselves and their bar. But to be treated like a bunch of trash ruined our whole night. And might I add, we walked there!!! No driving involved. Thanks Oak Grove for breaking my heart with all the great memories...

Went in, first waitress was rude and felt rushed because her shift was ending, second waitress that came in after the first ones shift had ended and was totally rude. Ordered fried mushrooms for an appetizer for $6.25 and only got 6 TINY little mushrooms. Ordered sandwiches for our main dish asked for the deluxe and only received mayo tomato and lettuce, (which was an extra 1.00) didn’t come with mustard, ketchup, onion, or pickle and it was served on STYROFOAM plates and I was also missing a bottom bun on my sandwich. And to top it off the beer was warm. WILL NEVER GO BACK. I wouldn’t recommend anyone go either. This was after a long day of skiing and snowboarding and just wanted to chill and take it easy but couldn’t because of crappy service and...
