I went back one more time for breakfast, on August 11, 2024. I figured if the food was as bad as last time, at least the view was good. Well, there was no view from the deck. They have put up a 6' tall plastic windscreen all around the deck, and it was impossible to see through, either because of dew, or dust and dirt. Food is still being served on the deep cardboard 'plates'. And the food quality keeps getting worse! One of my tablemates ordered the breakfast burrito, the cups of cream and salsa were hockey pucks, frozen hard. And my omelette was totally overcooked, it was so dry it was crumbly. I looked into the kitchen, again just teenage kids in there doing the cooking. This place used to be busy, not any longer, it seems the word is out about how the quality has gone south. I long back to three years ago, when it was the Right Fork Diner.

For $30, they gave me steak and eggs that looked exactly like cafeteria food, and when I sent it back to the kitchen, the waiter acted surprised at how bad it looked, then proceeded to mix up the food, hand it back and claim they redid it, looking even worse than it did before. New manager here is ruining the restaurant reputation with a terrible Attitude and borderline scam prices and portions, not even bothering to put water on tables, taking orders or even giving actual plates They even make you pay immediately after ordering the food, so that you tip them before finding out how bad the service is The picture below is how the food was served to me. This is how it looked before i took a single bite.

Katama Kitchen in Edgartown proved to be a delightful spot for a family-friendly breakfast. The meal was tasty and the standout dish was undeniably the Corned Beef Hash. The perfectly crisped edges of the corned beef paired harmoniously with tender chunks of potato, creating a satisfying, hearty bite. The balanced flavors and comforting textures made this dish a memorable choice. Combined with the warm and inviting atmosphere, Katama Kitchen provided a wonderful start to the day for both young and old alike.

Let me start out by saying we are locals and we really like the place. Just a few comments, don't expect much out of the lunch sandwiches...very underwhelming. The chicken wrap appeared large but only had 4 very small chicken nugget size pieces and was mainly 90% lettuce. The Vermonter had 2 thin slices of turkey and 1 slice of cheese...90% bread which was toasted and incidentally served burnt on one side. Please add just a little more meat for $18 per sandwich. We ordered at the counter and the friendly girls brought the food out to us, but they neglected to bring out salt, napkins or ketchup, so we had to walk back to the building a few times. The setting at the airfield is really great and we come for the relaxed environment, to watch the bi-plane take off and for the friendly relaxed vibe...that is why I gave it 4 stars. If they had a little music outside (just some music in the background) that might be a nice addition. If the person(s) in the kitchen making the sandwiches just enhanced them a little and took a little pride in presentation, it would make a huge difference. These comments are meant as a friendly criticism and not to offend. Love the place... could go from...

Love Katama Kitchen! I've had two breakfasts here and one lunch with different groups of people. Everyone was very happy with the food, service, and ambience. Breakfast was great! If you like artichokes try the Sardou it was unbelievable! Coffee and waters were always topped off which is nice because I know it is hard to find help on the island. Lunch was great, I had the Cuban and a side salad. It was the perfect amount of food and was very tasty. I think that the new ownership and staff have been doing an amazing job! Congrats to everyone for their hard work it shows! I look forward to many great meals here. I wish I was a picture person because I would love to share some pictures of the food. Next time I'll take some. Also I heard Dinner is starting soon and excited...
