Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Effingham

We stopped in to get supper while we were in town after a ballgame. There were several high school age kids working. We stood at the counter for 5 minutes while they all looked at us from the kitchen before a girl came up and finally took our order. One boy knocked a bag onto the floor and 3 of them walked past it before picking it up. I was relieved they threw it away and didn't try using it. Most of the workers were on their phone the entire time we waited for our order. I have to hand it to the two gentleman cooking. They were the only ones working and they were hustling. Our food sat in the window while the kids were on their phones and playing around. Thank you to the cooks, we enjoyed our food, and to the girl that took our order finally. Dairy Queen in Greenup Illinois is unfair. They write employees up for things they cannot help and they want to fire ill employees. They dont deserve any customers because they have mice and there's ants all over the store and not to mention all the flies in the lobby and bathroom. The district manager is rude to the employees forcing to give employees write ups for them being ill in some way and there was an old employee who went to a hospital and the district manager wanted to take him off the schedule and slowly fire him for being ill. This is not a place to work or even get food from because if the employers don't care about the employees imagine how they think of...

Sorry DQ, but your soft serve has become so bad I had to trhrow the last cone away. It was so icy and lacked flavor and was not creamy in the least. I had been fine the first visit, but my last teo got worse and worse. The food is also very lacking, expecially for the cost. shaking my head as I write ths because I had enjoyed the ice cream there for many years, not specifically this location but others. looking into why it may be off I learned DQ cannot even label the product as ice cream, there are no ingredients in their soft serve that come froma cow.
