Wow. We are local business owners and have eagerly anticipated this opening . Arrived on a rainy Saturday to be greeted by friendly staff offering a ride to the restaurant in a golf cart - ensuring we would be seated dry and in good spirits . Speaking of spirits , had lovely drinks followed by equally lovely apps . One of which was correctly lauded in the recent Travel and Leisure article / if the rainbow carrots are on the menu- highly suggest them ! Nice portions . The staff were all F/B veterans and many knew us from patronizing their former restaurants- made for a welcoming connection. The mains were nicely paced to arrive after we finished starters . Terrific lamb dish and veggie sides - which the chef prepared to order (request for no garlic). Order the buttered toast - worth it ! We skipped dessert - although they looked inviting . The coffee was hot and delicious . The bill was another pleasant surprise- quite reasonable given our full meal and drinks . High ceilings , good ambience and acoustics - we sat next to a big family with lots of kids but could still enjoy a conversation . We are already looking forward to our next visit - and if we don’t make reservations , looks like we can walk in and eat at the bar . Finally, the sheepskin lined seats all surrounded beautiful views of the lake and woods . This spot is a classic in the making . Welcome to the neighborhood. Best wishes for much success . You are certainly off to a strong start !

This is an amazing farm to table restaurant which is in the unique setting that is not quite a boutique hotel and not quite glamping - the cabins of Prospect Berkshires. The Cliff House is a restaurant on the property (open to those who are not staying in the cabins) where the food is not only delicious and well prepared, but in a truly breath-taking setting. Everything we ordered was well prepared, interesting, and excellent. As appetizers, we enjoyed the Rainbow Carrots and Fish Croquettes. We both enjoyed our main courses, the Steelhead Trout and Lamb Stew (which our server said is quite popular, and remarkably light for such a dish). They also have some interesting drinks - alcoholic and alcoholic. Service was excellent - attentive but not overbearing, and really pleasant staff. It is worth coming here 30 minutes before sunset (if the timing works) so you can see the grounds, take in the golden light, and enjoy the slow change over to night. Reservations often fill up at this restaurant, and once you come you will know why!

Magical and peaceful location with excellent cocktails, wine list and food! The location by the lake is so beautiful! As soon as we parked we were greeted our golf cart driver who gave us a ride to the restaurant and told us about the cabins in the property (can’t wait for a staycation!!). We were escorted by the cutest family of ducklings quacking alongside us. Restaurant is a sight to behold! We started with the buttered bread toasts that were mouthwatering and delicious (seriously never had such tasty bread!!), then beef carpaccio, asparagus, kale salad (which I sometimes find it’s like chewing hay, but this one was deliciously dressed and went down easy!!). We had the chicken breast (boneless, juicy and succulent) and the trout. Every bite perfectly cooked, fresh, so satisfying! Nancy Thomas nailed it again!!! Sooo good! The location is incredibly beautiful and look forward to a stay at the gorgeous cabins next time!

We were so excited to try this place! The place is beautiful right on the lake-super spacious with tons of windows and light. Beautiful outdoor and indoor seating, truly lovely. We came early at 5:15 so we could get a seat-the host told us he couldn’t seat us because we didn’t have a reservation-the entire restaurant was empty minus 2 party’s outside and two people at the bar. We told him we just wanted to try a quick appetizer and wouldn’t be long and he still said we could only sit at the bar. Another server came over and said they had a special area we could sit-it was on this back side porch -not in the restaurant with blaring sun and an umbrella that’s too tall to block it. We tried sitting for a while until it was way too hot and we couldn’t even see it was so bright so we went back in and asked the host if we could sit at the bar instead unless there was a table (whole place still completely empty) and he said no just the bar. The bartender was frantic trying to get drinks done and seemed that one bartender wasn’t enough even tho the night hadn’t even begun-we had to wait to be served by staff walking by and the place we sat was never cleared or cleaned. The steak tartare was yummy and the fish croquettes as well-we also got the simple local greens salad but it was all rotten lettuce so we had to send it back which we never do. Also the portions were really small. When we got up to leave the host asked us if we two for dinner (didn’t remember us at all even tho we were 1 of 4 party’s there and had had 3 interactions). All in all the two food items were good-the place was beautiful -would have been awesome to be seated at one of the dozen open tables inside or out-and for all the staff walking around the service wasn’t great. We’ll have to try again and def make reservations so we can...

We are locals and have been waiting for this place to open for the past year. Short story is it’s gorgeous and picturesque. The Cliff House has a big screened in wrap around porch on the edge of the lake, the furnishings all very light wood modern but inviting, and the service was an A+. The bar was a bit backed up with guests but the house cocktails were great. We tried all 5 choices and my fave was def the mezcal Amero one. I do think some twist of the dirty martini would be a great addition for us traditional dirty martini fans. Ok, so my understanding is that this was only the second night this place was open to the public and I had kind of low expectations due to that on the food. But it was truly delicious! I gave it 4 stars because I felt the menu needed a few more appetizers that could be shared more easily and I feel like the kitchen forgot to salt the marcona almonds we ordered. Given how lovely the bar is, I could easily see it becoming a regular place to meet and hang out with a friend. For that reason, I really feel like they need a burger on the menu and possibly a vegetarian option of that (impossible for example). For some crazy reason, the chefs in GB mostly shun the bar burger, but I suspect it could be a major hit and fills a gap on the menu. In any case huge thumbs up for Prospect, the service and the Cliff house. Will definitely recommend to my out of town friends and wishing the whole enterprise huge success and that they will thrive in the years to come! Oh and hoping they make day passes...
