Delicious food with friendly service just North of Whitewater State Park. We found this hidden gem while looking for a place to have breakfast with a patio that would allow our friends' dog after a weekend of camping. Our group of 6, with a toddler, ordered a variety from the breakfast menu items including the omelettes, burrito, biscuits and gravy, and standard eggs with toast and choice of breakfast meat. All the food and coffee drinks ordered were delicious. We will definitely return in the future if we are in the area. The location has street parking in front and a gravel parking lot on the north side of the building. There is a front entrance leading to the lounge eating area and a bar area in the back with tables also accessible by a side entrance from the parking lot. When we arrived on Sunday morning, ordering and service was being provided at the bar area in back.

This place is everything you could want in a restaurant. Lorne, the owner, if an amazing man who built this place from the ground up. $5 beers, delightful coffee, and an EXCELLENT breakfast special. That country fried steak was to die for! Open for dinner and breakfast. A "vortex" for bikepackers. We meant to stay for a quick pitstop. We ended up cheersing with the entire town, the owner, and bought the young un a coffee ("I know how to drink it!"). Two hours later and we're sad to leave. You NEED to eat here if you're hungry, body and soul, baby!

I camped at Whitewater State Park and stopped by Elba House in the morning, I could not have asked for a better breakfast. I had the special (chicken fried steak) and a black & white mocha, everything was fantastic. Service was quick and friendly and the view of the bluffs out the windows was great! Couldn't recommend this spot more.

My Wife and I have been driving past Elba HC&S for nearly 10 years now. This weekend was the 1st time we stopped because it wasn't packed with every vehicle ever made (lol) we were lucky enough to still get breakfast and since they had biscuits and gravy (my favorite) I figured I would see how EHC&S ranks against the "best" I every had (Nicks) in Cannon Falls. I have to say EHC&S is now my favorite place to for B&G. Not only were the B&G the best I've ever had, but the Service was great, the restaurant was perfect old school but clean, and the owner was gracious enough to sit with us for a while and get to know his vision for the town, his businesses, and the future of the Elba HC&S. Needless to say we will be back as often...
