My dad used to play Lakeside front 9 as a kid with his dad (my grandpa) who passed away when I was little. My dad and I were finally able to make it out there to play the 9 that my dad and his dad used to play together when my dad was a child. I made the booking/tee time 7 days in advance and it turned out there was a company tourney the same day as our t time so we were informed we could play woodside but probably not lakeside. We also stayed at the bed and breakfast the night before which was super convenient. The morning of our tee time we showed up an hour and a half early and explained why we were there. Rico immediately allowed us out on the course ahead of the tourney that didn’t start till 10. So we were able to play lake side front 9 together completely by ourselves. It was a super special moment for myself and even my dad later admitted how cool it was, every hole my dad had a different story about him and his dad on this course. We both played decent but it didn’t matter. Coolest experience I’ve ever had on a course anywhere. Rico showed us how much he and the course cared and took care of us when he didn’t have too. It’s really cool to see that in the industry still. I will be booking multiple trips back here with friends and staying at the bed and breakfast on the course. My dad and myself will return as well. This course earned my future business for YEARS to come by taking the time to take care of us. Course showed us everything the golf industry should be. I only took one picture that dad because I was so wrapped up in the moment. Course was beautiful and in tip top shape too.

I play at Butler's a few times a year and I really enjoy it. Very courteous and helpful staff. Course is in solid shape, except for the cart paths at least on the Woodside course (as of 4/3/21). Beautiful vistas and reasonable challenge including sloping fairways to help expand your game. During one of my rounds, there was a foursome behind who was causing some issues yelling at other parties on the course, and the clubhouse staff was very responsive in professionally deescalating the situation. I really like Butler's and its nice driving range with buy-by-card automated ball machine and I will continue to enjoy it.

The course and amenities are great. The play is very slow. We had a 5hr45min round on a Thursday Afternoon. We removed this course from our rotation a couple of years ago and the pace of play has not changed. The carts are old as dirt. When we got there two groups were calling the clubhouse becy the carts broke down. Then One of our hearts broke down. And the other one didn't have any breaks.

My sister and I had a golf outing for her husband benefiting Esophageal Cancer Research at Butler's Golf Course (Woodside) and Rock Run Inn on August 20, 2016. Helen Bergman was great to work with. She answered all of our questions. (We had a lot of them). Bryon and Tom were very helpful. They were there with us guiding us all along in the right direction. The carts and leader board was all set up when we arrived at the course. They even helped us unload our vehicles. The banquet room was set up to all of our needs. The volunteers needed another table within five minutes it was there. The food was delicious. The banquet room was clean. Sonny and his staff at the banquet room could not have been any friendlier. Our volunteers were thrilled with the air-conditioned room. The Butler staff was very helpful and considerate to our volunteers. All in all our first experience with Butler's and Rock Run Inn was exceptional. We can't wait for our...

The cart paths are like driving on the moon. And at a critical time in the world where you have to social distance...the clubhouse was packed and not 1 person not even the staff was wearing a mask. I also watched the bartender tip a cup of ice over only to pick the cup back up, refill it with ice and serve. The course itself was great. Played the Woodside...which was a little rough because of a recent storm but was Redd up as best as possible considering there were big trees uprooted. They overbooked the day on both courses so my single group tee time was pushed 30/40min and then took us an extra hour because of groups on top of each other. I had fun, greens were great, fairways were fair, the rough can be a little unforgiving, but I won't go out my way to play this course being 45mins...
