This review is super overdue, but absolutely necessary! (After all, when's the last time you've been to a restaurant and it was so excellent, you remembered to review it 9 months later?!) So back in July 2022, I planned a birthday weekend celebration for my husband's 40th, where our entire family came, and Lydia Lodge and Bearrrr Appetit were an absolute pleasure to work with! (See my review for Lydia Lodge on Google as well) We spent Friday through Sunday at Lydia Lodge, and ate all of our meals at Bearrr except for one. We enjoyed breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, including THE main event birthday dinner, where our party of 20 was treated like VIP's at Bearrr. The food was delicious as always, the restaurant happily accommodated our allergies (dairy and gluten), and to this day, the customer service was better than any other restaurant I've ever been to! (And I used to be a hostess and waitress myself!) Highlights: - Ashly, the manager/head server?, runs an amazing team of servers and hosts with top notch attention to detail + who all go above and beyond! (Owners, please promote Ashly!) - Speaking of going above and beyond, Sydney, the server, was incredible in drawing out a MAP to help us get to our cabin at 10pm in the evening the first night! Sydney even gave us her cell phone number if we got lost (we did), but with her help, we found the Speckled Owl cabin MUCH more quickly than if we were completely on our own! - Emma, the hostess, worked with Ashly to organize THE birthday dinner for my husband and our family -- our group was originally seated outside (our request due to COVID), but Emma had thankfully already anticipated impending rain, and when I called to check in on our table, she'd already arranged our table inside right next to the window so we could still see the beautiful view, and not get rained on! I loved this seamless attention to detail, and it was one less thing I needed to manage that weekend :) - Chef: I've spoken with him the past few times I've been to this restaurant, and he is also super kind, respectful and helpful! - This restaurant happily allows DOGS on their outside patio, which is so helpful since our dog is a part of our family :) Thank you to everyone working at Bearrr Appetit for your WONDERFUL customer service -- my husband I look forward to coming back soon to celebrate our wedding anniversary :) Because there's nowhere else we'd rather be! P.S. If you're thinking about hosting a major event at Bearrr Appetit, do it! I highly recommend working with them!

Beautiful place, beautiful view. I called Wednesday to make reservations for Friday at 6, we were coming from Florida. Get there, no reservation. I hate when restaurants do that. If you tell me over the phone we have a reservation, then do your job and write it down. It wasn't busy so they sat us. Delicious wine. Kids chicken tenders were delicious according to my son. Fried chicken sandwich was delicious according to both my daughter and husband. My honey pot fried chicken was crispy and moist, not seasoned enough though, def no honey flavor but still good. Red skinned mashed potatoes were excellent. Collard greens way oversalted. The Reuben was so disappointing. Bread was cold, cheese not even melted. It should be grilled or pressed. We sent it back and asked for them to grill it on the flat top. It came back with cheese melted, bread was still not grilled or toasted so big fail, hubby couldn't eat it, it was a mess. It was on the bill, I had to ask for them to remove it. They didn't have half of the desserts that were listed on the menu, disappointing. Service was pretty slow, not enough waitresses, but mostly friendly. Kitchen needs to make some EASY changes, hire another 2 waitresses, and this would make it a 5 star restaurant.

Hey Foodie Fam, Just had a jaw-dropping experience at Bear Appettie, part of Lydia Mountain Lodge, and I'm ready to spill the beans (or should I say bear claws?)! First off, let's talk about the grub – fresh, flavorful, and fancier than a bear in a bowtie. The chef here is clearly a culinary wizard. My taste buds did a happy dance with every bite, and I'm not exaggerating – these meals are next-level delicious. 🍽️🐻 Now, let's discuss the staff. Attentive? Kind? These folks redefine hospitality. They've got the friendliness game down to an art form. It's like being served by a squad of gourmet teddy bears (but, you know, the ones who bring you your food instead of stealing your picnic basket). And the views, oh my stars! Breathtaking doesn't even cut it. It's like dining in the lap of nature with a side of "Am I in a postcard right now?" The atmosphere is cozy, and you can feel the mountain magic in every corner. In a world where dining experiences are as common as bears at a honey buffet, Bear Appettie stands out like a grizzly at a poodle party. 10/10, would recommend for a taste of mountain bliss. Keep feasting, Chance Davis 🐾🏔️

Where I do I begin, we have been here several times and loved it so that’s why we chose here to take Mom for a Mother’s Day breakfast, after getting there I wish I would’ve went to McDonald’s, lady came up and said do you have reservations? I said no , I didn’t know we had to do that, she said it’s online that they was sold out yesterday, looks like to me you only had to make reservations for 6 or more people, we only had 3, I said we came a long way to get here, she said we sold out but if you can eat in 30 minutes you can get a table inside, or go outside, so after going that far we stayed(what a huge mistake that was)said we could only get buffet in which food was not good, biscuits was black and hard, and after we sit down , she never came to check on us, we asked another lady for refills, then she came out, we saw other waitresses checking on their guests and being very friendly, then she came back and said when you are ready to pay just come inside but yet I saw other waitresses bringing their guests their bill, and someone had ordered off the menu, after this we were ready to go, I asked another waitress if the reason I didn’t get service like others was because I didn’t make a reservation? She said not at all because I should’ve got the same service and I told her how we felt, she apologized, I said I wish I would’ve got her because she took good care of her guests, I will NOT be going back here again, that was a Huge waste of $80, i think the waitress was Wendy, anyone who decides to go there on Mother’s Day or any other occasion like that I would not recommend it. I felt like a poor person being there like I was a disease, so sad this place is...

This review is primarily based off reserving the Banquet room for a small party. Food 2/5 stars, service 0/5 stars, coordination communication 0/5 stars.

We booked the banquet room for Sept. 9th for a small event about 2 months ahead of the date. On the phone we confirmed we would be able to go outside and enjoy the mountain views from the room, play games outside, and generally go in and out as we pleased during the duration of the room rental (6pm-9pm).

The morning of, we ate breakfast at the restaurant, and checked in with the staff working to confirm our room, and the ability to enjoy the patio and deck games. The staff on site confirmed we would be good to go for the evening.

When we arrived for dinner, they had changed the layout of our room, and closed the doors and locked them with signs blocking the views stating the outside patio was closed for a private event.

We spoke with the staff onsite, and asked if we could not use the outside as we confirmed when booking, and earlier that same morning of our ability to use the outside patio for the views and we were told no.

We understand there are multiple events going on at the venue which is fine, but we did not appreciate being told throughout the whole process that we could use the main selling point of this location, the views and outside until it's time to use them.

We ended up leaving and not using their banquet services. Overall poor experience, poor coordination with the wedding services and restaurant services promising guests different things and not being...
