Momo's Cheesecakes — Restaurant in Ellsworth

Before I give my review, for the people that complain about price, have you bought a specialty cake from a grocery store lately? $30+ for most and no where near as good as Momo's! I thought the price we paid for a specialty ordered cake was a steal! I try to tip when we order one. You get what you pay for. Now, for my review:

Best Cheesecake EVER! The Wonderful owners have this place set up on the honor system, so you can go in and grab a slice 24/7 and just pay for what you pick, and there is tons of choices! Or you can call, email, or even Facebook them and request a specific cake to be made, and they will give you a price and have it ready for you to pick up in a separate cooler by the date and time they give you, which from our experience has never taken more than 24-48 hours, and they are ALWAYS very friendly whether you message, call, or see them there. Could not love this place and owners more! Definitely should stop in and see...

Let me start first with, I am not a cheesecake person. I can take it or leave it. We stopped for my husband, who is. A full cake is very expensive. I wish they sold smaller ones. Maybe they do, and already sold out. We visited late in the afternoon. We bought a few slices. I didn't think the flavor was anything extraordinary, yet the slices were nice and thick. No skimping there. My husband enjoyed his strawberry topped slice. I only had a bite of his to try it out. I would say it is worth the visit if you like cheesecake and want something better than what you find in the market. It does taste restaurant quality. So I guess when I say nothing extraordinary, I am comparing it to restaurant or bakery cheesecake. That is the reason for 4 stars. If I compare to the market, it would get 5 stars. What everyone has said it correct. The cheesecake is GREAT! The honor system, in a very cynical world, is such a great reminder that there are still honest people out there. For those who don't know what that is, basically there are prices listed how much a slice or whole cheesecake are but what you leave is not monitored by anyone and they are open 24 hours so you can feed that sweat craving at anytime of the day or night. :)

One of the best things, which I didn't see covered in the reviews, is they have gluten free cheesecake for those who are either watching how much gluten they are taking in or need to avoid it altogether.

As others have posted, they are a cash business but they do use Venmo.

If you are in the area or even close, its without a doubt worth the drive to check it out and since it is open 24 hours, you don't need to worry about rushing to get there before...
