Been to the RedPine several times. Bought a cabin in Fifty Lakes in June. Brought my parents here for a dinner for the first time and was excited for them to try it.
Got sat right away when we got there at 6:40pm. Waited about 10 minutes to order a water, coke, and a hot tea. We were told immediately that there is no hot drinks as the person who does that is cooking tonight. We did see another table have a hot tea however. Also ordered some won tons for an appetizer.
Drinks came out and won tons followed a few minutes later.
Now we are waiting for the food and itâs almost 8pm. My parents who are elderly and in their 70s and 80s were noticeably getting frustrated on how long the food was taking, the restaurant was busy but it did seem to be taking abnormally long.
We flagged our original waitress down to ask about the food and she responded with that itâs almost done, and they were busy.
A few minutes later another waitress came to our table and said itâs almost done and theyâre working on it and thatâs when my parents had enough waiting and my mom said forget it just bag it up and we want it to go.
A few minutes after that, I assume who is the manager/owner comes to our table noticeably agitated with his heart racing like he was running a marathon. My mom says this has been a nightmare (the wait time) and we just want to leave, and he responds with an attitude that we donât need to eat his food if this place is a nightmare and he needs to protect his staff from people being rude. He was the only one being rude in the moment and his energy was at a level where I felt he that he wanted to do something.
I have never felt this way at a restaurant in my life, and the way my elderly parents were spoken to, I was about to ask him to join me outside.
This place will never get my...
Read moreThis place did a beautiful job on the renovations. It is quite exquisite from a visual aspect. The downfall is no host station or direction of where to go. It's a seat yourself, as you see fit. The patio was lovely, but bugs, a wet tush and no wait staff for over 20 min was tough. We moved inside, ordered our own adult beverages from the bar and found a great 2nd spot. The waitress arrived 20 min later, expressed that the previous guests must had left so we'll use the existing place settings. I asked ingredients questions about the limited menu and she was not familiar so we ordered appetizers to start with and water. 8$ for 2 egg rolls, they have to be ahhhh-mazing right? And traditional cream cheese puffs. In the interim, she brought us the waters, half full, in red old school glasses, mine with previous lipstick, but hey, I'm drinking a cocktail instead, ha ha. She took our dinner order and wasn't seen again. Our apps arrived by a pleasant gal, no horse oeuvre plates, napkins or refill of our adult bevs. Hmm.. now we're drinking the water. The sweet and sour sauce almost tasted as pure Ketchup, which was so sad because my dinner was to be sweet and sour chicken, the same sauce. One egg roll was a bit overcooked but deep fried, we can ignore that. Then 2 more different wait staff brought the same appetizers 2x, and we shared that we already had ours. We watched several tables of people walk in, seat themselves and then decide to leave. At this point, glasses are dry, we have no idea where our waitress is. My partner even goes upstairs and no such luck. After over an hour in, we drop more than enough money for our bill and leave. I had such high hopes for this place. Hopefully the good is just that great in the future! Sadly,...
Read moreThe experience at Red Pine Cookhouse is top notch! We were lucky enough to dine in on a night the establishment was hosting a ukulele jam session/ intro lesson. The session was well led by a warm instructor that made learning the ukulele fun and accessible - there were a handful of ukuleles and other instruments available for loan.
Now, for the dining experience. The space is absolutely gorgeous - natural light, stunning stone fireplace, posh cabin decor at it's finest. There is a cozy loft with arcade games, foosball table and multitude of board games. Perfect place to host a get together.
Food was absolutely amazing. The deep fried egg rolls were hot and fresh - 5 stars!!! The steak noodle salad was a definite favorite - fresh veggies balanced out the tender and savory steak. Both the steak and chicken banh mi were winners. I particularly loved the steak banh mi - the meat was incredibly tender and marinated perfectly. Loved the crunch and freshness of the cilantro, pickled carrots, daikon radish and jalapeños. The flan was creamy, sweet and eggy - delish!!!
Service was warm and welcoming. The staff could not be more wonderful. Visit Emily, MN so you can experience all that RPC has to offer!!! You will not be...
