We and two other couples ate at the Battle Creek McGnigles Pub on Friday 7/8 and sat in the back room. One man ordered the three piece Pollock with baked potatoe and my husband order the ALL YOU CAN EAT POLLOCK AND FRENCH FRIES. When the waitress brought their orders she gave the other man my husbands order (AYCE) three pieces of fish with fries and gave my husband a 4 piece piece Pollock with baked potatoes. At first the other man didn't realize that he had the wrong order so he started eating his fish and finished one whole filet and some fries. When my husband started to eat his he realized that he had the wrong order and that the waitress had switched meals with the other man. We brought this to her attention and unbelievably she picked up my husbands plate, went over to the other man and told him to take one of my husbands pieces of Pollock ( he had 4 pieces)and put it on this man's plate and then took that plate and gave it to my husband and gave my husbands, now three piece plate with baked potatoe to this man!!!! I do believe this is a clear violation of Health Depart regulations. Once a plate is set on a table it is considered unusable to anyone else. Not to mention that the man had eaten one filet and some fries already. My husband at his 3 pieces of fish and potatoe and everyone else was done with their meal before the waitress even came back and it was not to check see if my husband wanted more fish for his AYCE meal it was to give us our check. She never once came back during our meal to see if my husband wanted more AYCE fish. Also she gave us the wrong bill, she gave us the other couples check which had two diet cokes on it and we had coffee and water. My husband told her that she never checked to see if he wanted more AYCE fish and it had been 20 minutes since we last saw her and that was because we had asked for ketchup and she forgot it and brought it to us after my husband had eaten most of his fries. We told her we were not paying for AYCE but only a 3 piece Pollock dinner and we did not leave her a tip. This is truly unbelievable for a restaurant that has such a high volume and a good reputation. My suggestion is that you have a staff training on Food Safety and Health Department rules and regulations cause this waitress was obviously unaware that we could have sued your establishment or at the very least reported this to the Health Department. She claimed she has 20 years experience as a waitress and had worked at your place...
Read moreThis restaurant is one star sad tale of woe. But let me start from the beginning. Occasionally my wife will pick a city about one or two hours drive our home to take a leisurely drive to a restaurant she will pick. Sort of a gastronomic adventure. She usually looks at the google reviews then the menu. In this case she for some reason neglected to look at the reviews and instead went to the menu. It had smelt which she likes, so we went there. The drive was nice as it was great September day. Our first inclination of undesirability was that it was across from a gravel and concrete recycling place. Outside it looked ok, but I asked her to check the reviews again. She said she forgot and we looked and it only had 4.3 stars. We have learned that going to a restaurant with less than 4.6 stars is sometimes gastronomic roulette. Nevertheless, we decided to soldier on. We were greeted by doors with dirty glass. We were told to sit anywhere so we took a booth away from the bar area. We next heard a loud scream of “go packers” from a person at the bar that continued yelling in what appeared to be a drunken state. My wife ordered smelt and French onion soup. I ordered the steak, a salad and what they had listed as a loaded baked potato that came with scallions cheese and bacon. My wife received her soup and at the bottom was a plastic lid of the type you receive condiments in. The waitress replaced it with another bowl that seemed ok. Her smelt seemed sort of average. She had coffee in a sad water (and maybe something gruesome) slobbered on the side. We ordered ann onion blossom that was ok. My salad was a bit of iceberg lettuce and some shredded cheese. The baked potato was ok but there were none of the advertised scallions. The waitress forgot silverware so we just grabbed it from another table. When we opened the napkin the silverware had water spots and possibly some remnants of past meals. The steak was cooked correctly but the meat was tough with lots of grizzle. With all that a one star review is in order although we left the waitress a 30% tip for...
Read moreYears ago I left a favorable rating but I now need to change it.
Around 5pm I placed a delivery order online, expected to be delivered at 5:58 PM - 6:13 PM. I was called by someone in the kitchen shortly after the clarify my pizza order. At 7:10 I still had not received my food or any communication so I called to see what was happening. They told me repeatedly that they did not have my order and I must not have completed it. I told them I received a call clarifying it so I know they got it. I also told them they already pulled my credit card. Eventually they found my order and said it was delivered. I told them it was not. They said they brought it an address that was not mine. I told them it was the wrong address and verify I provided the correct one with the receipt page they sent me. I heard someone else say in the background the people at the other address had called them to ask why the food was delivered to them then I was told me my food was brought to the wrong address. They said they would remake it and send it fresh. I asked if I was going to get a refund or a discount because my card was already pulled. They said fine they are refunding my money. Then I asked how long it would take to get the food and she said they are no longer bringing us food because we were refunded and they couldn't send food for free. I said "but you made the mistake, how are you going to fix it?" And she said "I didn't make any mistakes, the driver did." A complete lack of ownership. She then said she was busy and didn't have time for me and hung up. I reached out to management later to raise the issue with them and they did not care.
This was the last straw for me. The last time we got food delivered from them there was a bug in the salad and the last time I went in to pick food up there was a server wearing some kind of lacey doily thing as a face mask, which seemed to me a mocking of the safety measure it should be.
They no longer deserve...
