Emsworth Inn — Restaurant in Emsworth

Noticed this place was under new ownership, and wanted to check it out. The other reviews seemed enthusiastic, and I have never been here, so my girlfriend and I were eager to try it out.

First and foremost, the place is very clean and bright for a bar. The bathrooms are very clean too. Our bartender, Lindsay, was very kind and attentive. The food came out swiftly and we loved it. We ordered hot pepper cheese balls and a burger each. It was served exactly as ordered. Notably, the bun used was incredibly fresh and quality.

They seemingly have a good variety of bottles and cans, with a respectable draft beer selection. I was shocked to see Mad Elf on tap.

Beyond this, the other patrons who sat near us at the bar were all very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them and the bartenders alike.

We'll definitely be back to try the cheesesteak and the spicy Italian hoagie, which we've heard good things about. I'd probably give this place over 5 stars if I could. Thank you for running an establishment that you...

Absolutely terrible experience after sitting there for 10 minutes with my ID and money on the counter I never saw a bartender or was never asked what I would like to drink probably because the 8 loud regular drunk idiots sitting at the bar were probably making too much noise for her in the kitchen to hear me when I grab my ID and money and proceeded to leave the drunk idiots made a comment asking why I was leaving so I told him it was because I have not been served yet and he started telling me that I need to speak up I told him that that is not right in that is not how a bar should run then all 8 started yelling at me telling me to get out of here and I'm not welcome anyways I will never go back in here I will never spend another dollar there absolutely terrible telling everyone I know to stay away. The owner should do something about what I can only assume is his drunk regular friends...

I and my friend walked into this bar looking for an easy beer. The staff was extremely friendly and most of the patrons were. One man proceeded to verbally asssult my friend and I in a manner you would see in an online chatroom (attacking the choices and appearance of his mother). He was around 70 years old. The patrons defended him as if he was their own and so i just want everyone to know that this is not a public bar. It feels like everyone there knows each other and they do not welcome outsiders. The staff really helpful after the inicident and i do not hold anything against those wonderful people, but be aware....if you walk into this door, the people are not afriad to hit below the belt.
