Came in for date night dinner, and we were pumped to sit down and grab some drinks. There was a fun fall specials menu and and extensive beer list. Ended up grabbing a couple beers but unfortunately we were not given the opportunity to order another round. Our server began his first impression by setting waters down on our table and asking if we were ready for drinks, which we were. I wish he had said hello or introduced himself. Sadly the rest of the experience went this way, we put our food in quickly and were never checked on once. Apps came, no check on. Dinner came, no check on. Beers getting lower and waters empty, and not once did he ask if we needed anything or how the food came out. Keep in mind it wasn’t crazy busy. We totally wanted another round of drinks but were not willing to chase our server down for them. About 6 minutes into our dinner to go boxes we’re thrust in front of us and no offer of desert or anything else needed was given. We asked for the bill and high-tailed it out of there. Yes, this is a casual bar, we weren’t looking for fine dining service at all. But being friendly and making the guest feel welcome is the basics, which we were not granted. I will say the food was okay; the apps (calamari, thanksgiving egg rolls) were yummy but my dinner (meatloaf grilled cheese with slaw) was bland and not appetizing. We would have gone back to try more food but the service tonight was the nail...
Read moreI've been here about a dozen times for appetizers or a sandwich, and overall it's been okay- no real complaints, nothing great, but nothing really bad. Okay. So the last time I went, I ordered the fisherman's platter and it looked great when it arrived! Fish was tasty, shrimp was good, but then the scallops.....it smelled like ammonia, and I mean BAD! I checked a few more scallops out and they were all the same. I've cooked in restaurants most of my young life and I know what bad seafood tastes and smell like. If they smell this bad cooked, you can only guess how nasty the raw scallops smelled. I sent it back, and got the "It's fresh, it just came in today" (which I said to my wife I bet they'd say). I sent it back and ordered the Vermonter, which is a turkey burger. Apparently the cooks were pissed that I sent the seafood back so they microwaved my burger from frozen till done. Well, it tasted just like that, steamy and rubbery with no grill marks on the patty. The bun was drenched with water and soggy like a sponge, so I had another bite and ate my cole slaw since I was starving, but I couldn't stomach any more of it. Needless to say the two disgusting meals right after another irritated the hell out of me, so of course I will never come back to this place. What a shame they spend for all kinds of radio advertisements and their kitchen ruins it. Oh well, another place to cross...
Read moreThe food was very good. The server was the worst i have ever experienced. She was more interested in trying to pick up one of three guys she was serving at another table in our vicinity. Tried to order more drinks but she couldn't stop going back to the table with the three guys and then standing there for about 10 minutes each time. One person at our table wanted to order another beer and she didn't ask him which kind beer he wanted and just brought one he didn't want. Another who wanted to order another beer couldn't as she never came back.We didn't even know if she heard him. She brought the bill promptly, but never came back to the table. Spend the better of 30 minutes going to the bar and getting shots for the table of three and hovering over them. We couldn't get her attention to pay our bill. It was on the outside part of the restaurant, where there are only 9 tables served by different servers. We had to send one of our party into the restaurant to get our bill paid, this was 45 minutes after getting the bill. After one of our party got back to the table, she had to walk past the table tje server was still standing at then the server finally left the table with the three guys and asked if we wanted to close out our check. We told her we went inside to pay it and she...
