I stayed at the Getaway in Epsom NH for a couple of nights. The plan was to relax on Friday evening and then do some hiking on Saturday. Mother nature had different plans. Friday night was clear and perfect. After dinner, I went to Blasty Blough. Dave, the owner, was welcoming, informative, and genuinely hospitable. During the course of my visit, he gave me a printed map of some hiking trails near Getaway and also how to take a trail to get from Getaway to the brewery. There was a fun mix of locals and other visitors at the bar and tables. The atmosphere makes people jwant to chat with each other and be social. The beers were great. Very diverse Selection ranging from Pilsner, Belgians, IPAs, stouts, all delicious! Saturday started with snow in the morning and then quickly change to rain for the rest of the day. Put a damper on hiking plans. I ended up back at the brewery. The second night was as good as the first. The beers were still delicious and the company was great. Dave is a local treasure. This brewery is worth a visit. Leave yourself some time to really sit and enjoy it. Can’t wait to get...
Read moreWhat a find! We’re in town for a few days celebrating our wedding this past weekend and saw this local farm brewery within walking distance, so figured why not? So glad we made the trek! The beer is delicious - I’m a craft beer guy who has been to breweries all over the country and beyond, and this is one I’d go out of my way for. Fresh, clean and flavorful. We tried the traditional amber and the kolsch, and both were home runs. Dave (the owner?) was super friendly and welcoming, and when he heard we’d just got married and this was our first trip after the wedding he surprised us with a couple logo pint glasses! You just don’t see that kind of thoughtfulness enough these days. We knew we were in good hands from the moment we arrived we based on the signage at the brewery, but the service and quality of beer was even more than we’d hoped for, and we met some friendly neighbors who were super nice and made it a great atmosphere for a couple out of towners like us. A true gem in the area that I can’t recommend...
Read moreWell, there's the great beer of course. But it's really the whole package. I love the cozy, rustic atmosphere. There's nothing commercial about this place: the handmade bar, the tables, the wrap-around farmer's porch. And they've even adapted during COVID, offering a field and beautiful view -- with plenty of space to social distance and enjoy a beer. And, it's the staff: Dave and Lois and extended family and friends are so welcoming. They are family friend. We have a kid in tow and they always make sure that she has something to do (they provide coloring for the kiddos!). And, last but not least, it's the food! We've been to a lot of brew pubs and I would say they top the list when it comes to quality and selection. Definitely worth checking out. You won't be...
