I knew when I got here when I saw a tablecloth on that it was going to be pricey. This is a very nice restaurant. It's a really cool old building. It had a very nice atmosphere and everybody was very friendly and pleasant. The bread along with the basket of various breadsticks and crackers was nice. I wasn't super hungry so we skipped to the appetizer. The side salads were pleasant enough nothing spectacular. The French onion soup was not all that great or very hot but it was not bad in any regard. The steak was probably one of the most perfectly cooked steaks I have ever had in a restaurant. There was not a lot of seasoning on it but I like my horse radish so that was OK for me. The shrimps were massive and had a great taste. The home fries definitely needed to be cooked more and drained as well but they were still ok. The baked potato was fresh. We got carrot cake and tiramisu to go.I really like carrot cake and have to say this really fell short. It was just kind of plain and not really all that good in my opinion. The tiramisu on the other hand was just WOW. Absolutely love it.

My recent visit to Angelo’s Northwood Villa with some friends was quite the adventure! Walking in felt like stepping into a scene from an old gangster movie, with the place dripping in history. We even got a kick out of the detailed tour they offer through a cool binder. Now, onto the drinks. Bit of a bummer they didn’t have any draft beers, but we found solace in their extensive wine list. We had our eyes set on the cigar bar, but it was booked for a private event. As for the martinis, they were a bit on the fruity side for our tastes. Appetizers were a mixed bag. The bruschetta was tasty but a tad soggy. The shrimp cocktail looked impressive, but the taste didn’t quite live up to the hype. And the flaming cheese? Well, let’s just say it was more of a spectacle than a standout dish. Moving on to soups, the French onion soup left us wanting more flavor, but the toasted bits inside were a nice touch. Now, onto the main event – the entrees. My porterhouse steak was a bit disappointing, lacking flavor and tough to chew, but the burnt butter asparagus saved the day with its deliciousness. As for the sides, the garlic bread was a bit soggy, and we wished they had toasted it up a bit. And don’t get me started on the drinks – no draft options and the $25 old-fashioned didn’t quite hit the mark. Overall, Angelo’s Northwood Villa has its charm with the historic vibes and all, but the food and drink offerings left a bit to be desired. We gave it a collective rating of 5.68 out of 10 – not terrible, but not exactly a glowing endorsement either.

Greeted 5 minutes after we arrived to an unhappy hostess because we didn’t have a reservation at lunch time when the place was dead. Let that go, and tried to enjoy the meal. The complimentary bread sticks and cheese bread were delicious. Ordered some calamari and shrimp for appetizers. The marinara was bright red but good. From there the meal spiraled down quickly. No one came for our used plates and appetizer dishes until our main course was served. The pictures should speak for themselves on how the main dishes tasted. The filet was over cooked on the out and under cooked on the inside. Tasted like straight butter and no seasoning. The Chicken Parmesan had a chunk of gristle in the bite I took. Not to mention it looked like it was made by Chuck e Cheese. The child got a BLT and fries which were the stars of the show. I don’t know what happened to this place but it used to be high quality food. Not anymore. The highlight is that the restaurant itself is gorgeous. A little jewel from time before. Also forgot to add one of the servers wouldn’t stop talking about how they were going to split a party’s tip/bill. Very unprofessional to do in front of patrons

I visited this establishment yesterday to celebrate my birthday, anticipating an exceptional dining experience. I ordered the porterhouse steak cooked medium well, accompanied by a side salad and loaded baked potato. Unfortunately, the steak was a subpar cut of meat, excessively fatty, and required three re-cookings to achieve the desired level of doneness. Despite these efforts, the steak remained raw and bloody. Blood was pooling on top of the steak. Notably, the menu failed to indicate that the steak would be topped with mushrooms, and it lacked a proper sear on both sides, resembling boiled meat. The loaded baked potato was underwhelming, with only a modest amount of cheese and butter provided on the side. The salad was also unimpressive. Following the third attempt to correct my steak, I chose to forgo further efforts and departed, feeling disappointed and hungry. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this establishment. It is worth noting that neighboring diners were also expressing dissatisfaction with the quality of the food.

Celebrated my neices birthday. Food is awesome filet mignon with extra zip sauce, char and sizzle platter with past butter garlic and deep fried shrimp piece. The shrimp cocktail were huge. The chocolate martini was awesome.
