Came here on a whim because I knew I wasn't going to have time to cook dinner. Upon first entering, I got a whiff of that classic "we haven't changed our air return filters for our AC in a year" smell and it was pretty warm inside. Definitely not comfortable warm... sticky warm. Not fun in late August. And there was also a rather pungent aroma of not so fresh fish... Despite these things, I went ahead and decided to order... definitely to go instead of dining in. The young man who took my order was very friendly and politely let me know that there were a few people ahead of me. When it was my turn to order, I ordered an Orange Chicken meal. He asked if I wanted the salad and sushi roll that came with it and I politely declined and asked if I could substitute fried rice instead... he said no problem. The wait wasn't long, only about 15 minutes and when he handed me my bag, I was a bit confused. I had still payed the full price for the entire meal so, I assumed, that I was getting a box of Orange Chicken and a box of fried rice... not the case unfortunately. I received one box. I shrugged it off and headed home. Keep in mind I just paid $18, plus the 15% tip, making it $20 and some change. Well, the Orange Chicken was super tough to chew. Bits of hard something or other in each battered chicken piece. The fried rice was pretty damn good though. All in all, the best I can give this place is 3 stars. I paid WAY too much for a small plate of mediocre Orange Chicken and they should've given me a lot more rice. I highly recommend that they get that stale, stinky air filtered. I don't think many people would even bother staying 5 minutes in that kind of atmosphere.

We had such a wonderful experience our first time here. Great customer service (friendly, fast, and efficient) and all of the rolls and appetizers we got were beautifully presented and tasty too! Didn’t take photos of all the food, but my had to when the enormous roll was presented. We couldn’t finish it all, but was still tasty the next day. Definitely will be back.

Makara Restaurant was a great experience. I ordered the jalapeño roll, which was delicious with just the right amount of spice. For an appetizer, I had the gyoza potstickers, and they were very good. The presentation was nice, and the service from the owner, Jason, was excellent. Highly recommend!

Went here for my Daughters Birthday. We made reservations for 9 people at 7pm. I think our waitress was new. Or I hope she was or else they are in trouble lol. It took over an hour to get our food. The youngest child getting theirs last. When we finally did get our food it was cold and had absolutely no flavor and the rice had hard pieces in it and was cold. I didn't say anything because at this point it was almost closing and we just wanted to go home. All I can say is Panda Express has you beat on the orange chicken. You need to get some good wait staff(friendly and fast), a new cook and make fresh food not frozen and you might be able to be saved. But if not I'm sorry but I just see this place not making it. I feel like we could have went somewhere waaay better for all the money we spent. At least I know now. Sorry if I'm mean but I'm just...
