You know when you go to McDonalds and you walk away feeling like there was too much attention and service?? uuuuhhh never said anyone ever. Until now. As a 50 year old with a family looking for a nice dinner out, I am clearly not the demographic for this new business model. If this place advertised themselves as "Taco Bell but with a really nice view!" or "Burger King with a much nicer place to sit, and less service." Then it would at least be honest. Problem is, it used to be a nice place to go eat after a long day, when you just wanted a nice person to bring you delicious plates of food and drinks. It used to be that. And now, it's a self-service, order on your phone, get up and get your own food, packaged in plastic with those mini squeeze ketchups, help yourself to another self-service bar of plastic forks and paper napkins.... not a human in the house to help you out god forbid the App isn't working on your phone... or you forgot to ask to 'hold the cheese' on your burger. The deal breaker for me, was when I got up to ask the bar if I could order drinks there since the App wasn't letting me order drinks, and they seemed to have about 5 bartenders on hand. I asked for a glass of Rose and two seltzers, with ice in a glass please... They looked at me confused, handed me two cans of seltzer and said "can't you just drink them out of the can?" A person who prefers a glass is clearly not the demo. Good luck Great March Brewing Co.! I hope you can...
Read moreGreat Marsh - good beer. Good food. Great space! We were vacationing on Cape Ann and happened by Great Marsh brewery. They have a variety of beers in many different styles, so it is likely there is something for everyone. Of the beers we tried, their session ipa is a great one, Cisco and mosaic hops make it a clean, crisp, citrusy drink - heat for the summer or any season for that matter.
The tap room and restaurant are purpose built into and around the brewery. Walking in you you can see the operation at work, hear the canning of a new batch, and take in the warm smells of yeast and malt - a feast for all the senses.
The tap room sits on the ground floor and includes and outdoor patio area. The bar and restaurant (sousviderie) are one flight up and wrap around the towering barrels and production floor. A cat walk allows you to view the entire operation from overhead.
Menu features a variety of burgers, tacos and Mac and cheese… all cooked sousvide style. I am my partner ordered the spicy fries… which were a great and flavorful start to lunch. We the ordered two different tacos so we could try a variety. The Caribbean pork and spicy chicken were both delicious compliments to the great space and good beer. Worth...
Read moreWe recently hosted a welcome party the day before our wedding at Great Marsh Brewing and we can’t say enough about how great Dan and his staff were throughout the process. We knew early on we wanted to host the event there because the location and space are fantastic. We did run into a few issues getting started (a year ago), as management changed hands a few times over the past year, but in the end we got everything sorted out once Dan took the lead and it was a great experience. During the planning, we were able to customize our menu and Dan worked with us to accommodate allergies and other food restrictions of our guests. We had several calls with him and prior to our event to make sure everyone was on the same page. The night of, we were able to arrive early to set-up some decorations to really make everything special. We were really pleased with everything. The food and beverages were fantastic and everyone told us how great of a time they had at the party. In particular, everyone was complimenting the tots, mac & cheese, and veggie burgers. We would definitely recommend Great Marsh Brewing for any party you want to host or just to pop in for a...
