So we have been here many times and it has historically been great but it has slowly gone downhill for the last year and this last time, early June 2025 was terrible. It wasnāt busy at all, there were 3 servers all of whom couldnāt care less about attending to patrons and the kitchen was fully staffed and it still took almost 15 minutes to get water and chips/salsa. Another 10 minutes later, yes I was timing, and she came for our order. Never came back to refill our water, I went and grabbed the pitcher and filled ours and a few other guests glasses and they never batted an eye at that. Moving on 45 minutes later and after watching our food sit on the hot(warm) counter for 11 minutes of that, I was finally able to get our servers attention, I had to get up and go over to her and show her our order and all the while other people had got there food that they ordered after us. When the food came not only was it cool and the crema dried and cracked on top of my burrito but mine was chicken, I ordered barria AND there were NO BEANS! All rice and when I asked her where are the beans she said quote āoh yeah, I forgot to tell you we are out of beansā seriously? Thatās like a sushi restaurant running out of rice. I told her to return it to the kitchen and take it off of my tab. I believe the problem is they have too many teenagers working there as every time you look theyāre either on their phone or standing in a group BSāing about who knows what while drying glasses or something and oblivious to what is going on in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had dinner at Cantina for the first time, last Wednesday evening (3/10/21), and it was absolutely lovely! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was wonderful, super friendly and anticipated our every need. My husband had the carnitas street tacos and I had the red chili chicken enchiladas, plus we shared some "elote" corn and of course, the chips and salsa! The salsa was really fresh and just right - it started the meal off on a perfect note. We sat outside on the patio, and had the most amazing view of the Estrella mountains as the sun was getting lower in the sky. So picturesque and relaxing. They have several very nice brews on tap as well. The food and experience at Cantina is just delightful and we will be visiting regularly! Also, on top of the incredible view from the patio, the Presidio art gallery has new art up, and the overall atmosphere just can't be beat. I would give more than 5 stars if I could! Thank you Team...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food is mediocre. The chips and salsa was...ok. The drink and menu selections are limited. They limit the main portions and have heavy rice and super runny refried beans. The beef (carne asada) tasted close to turning. It was not carne asada. Small cuts of chuck or flank steak. It was not any tenderloin or they got ripped off from their provider.
It has the feel like the restaurant is not doing well and they are on their last leg. My wife and I came here when they opened and the food was not great. We were told they might have gotten better, sadly they have not. Evidently the Presidio agrees. They have limited seating with the other dining area closed. This has to cut into their sales. One can only assumes Presidio wants them to fail so they will not renew their lease and they can get a better restaurant in.
Please get a good bar and grill in here. What a...
