M & M KING’S BBQ — Restaurant in Eustis

Very sad. I've been eating Kings since the early 70's. Had not tried it since the new owners took over from the Alexanders. Don't know what the deal is, but they have screwed around with the original formula. I immediately noticed that they even smelled different. They now seem parboiled and horrible- most likely to speed up the cooking process. The ribs I got were not the smoke infused deliciousness of the past 50 years, but some soggy mushy half attempt at the original. Gone is a long family tradition and probably the most authentic and original BBQ anywhere. While the new owners seemed nice enough, I don't really care about that. I have driven over from Orlando since the days when King (Mr. Thomas) would lovingly mop up the slabs while swatting away flies through the screen while muttering "tender as a mother's love". Part of the disappearing landscape of old FLA. I hope the new owners take this message to heart and go back to the way it was. I may never know as it's doubtful I'll ever...

Sadly KINGS is not back! We have been getting KINGS BBQ for over 40 years and was thrilled to see that they were back open again. This Friday, March 7, everything worked out and I picked up a slab of ribs and a couple sides. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! The ribs, while they fell off the bone, were so tough they couldn’t be eaten. Not to mention full of gristle. They were just nasty. The beans were right out of the can and tasteless. The coleslaw was right out of the box off the SYSCO truck. Just a horrible experience but almost expected. When we used to pull up, there was always a line of people waiting to get served and waiting. Now no one is in line for this. Place was clean and the lady taking my order was nice. Food was horrible and expensive. Won’t be back again. There are way too many good BBQ places around town that are MUCH BETTER than this place. It’s certainly not the KINGS BBQ...

A childhood staple as having THE BEST bbq in town. A full circle 20 plus years later same location semi same name with a few changes. Customer service was very pleasant and it took about 10 minutes to receive, but everything came out hot and fresh to order .

We ordered 1/2 salad rib dinner I enjoyed the ribs not as flavorful as I would like but tender enough to eat. The greens were a tiny portion it good and I did not like the macaroni and cheese next time I would try the coleslaw.

The kings sauce is not much of my taste so we used regular bbq sauce. But for the price I would come back and get the ribs again and chicken as well.

There is a nice size party for outside seating only. I love that it is still here serving...
